Brr...
« on: November 19, 2004, 04:50:17 PM »
So, I work in a sales office for a wood products company.  As such, we have a big warehouse on the backside of our building.  The restrooms have two doors: one that goes into the office, and one that goes outside into the warehouse.

And let me tell you, with that outside door right there, and the temperatures how they are, those toilet seats get downright frosty.
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier.

I was just playing CounterStrike in a lan centre, with no heaters, when the temp outside is a humid and warm 2 degrees C. Gloves would have been nice.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

It's almost Summer here. I'm glad for the rain; the rain is cool.

So today the boiler in my apartment went out. Just when the temp dropped for the weekend.

Ouch, that sucks. I can't wait until we get some snow; that'll stay on the ground.

I'm glad I got out before Summer hit there.  Sure, it's only 40 F here and rainy, but it beats the sweltering heat.  I couldn't believe how hot Brisbane was getting in *mid-spring* in the weeks before I left.

I can handle the ice cold. I don't like the supernova-hot.

Queensland is probably the nicest weather in Australia - it's sunny, but not hot to the point of being Evil. Now, Alice Springs and such, or even further North in Queensland, it gets just as hot if not hotter, as well as being far drier.

It was getting in the mid-90's when I left and many talked of it getting to be well over a hundred on average in the summer.  That's just hot.

Oh, and that's not in Celsius.  As that would be insane.

So here's a question: if you live in a country that is bisected by the equator, and hence in two hemispheres (like Kenya or Brazil or whatever), what season do you say it is?  Granted, there isn't a big difference in the tropics between Summer and Winter, but technically you could be in winter, and your friend down the street could be in summer...

don't people around the equator just have the rainy season and the dry season as opposed to winter and summer.

When I was a kid it blew my mind to realize that people in the south went NORTH to get warm and SOUTH to get cool.
