I know... when they moved him, I thought the show was going to be new or different somehow. But it was really just The Tonight Show moved to 9pm. Boooring...

I, too, probably demonstrate my Superfan nature by recommending Sanderson books to others. I've worn out my paperback copies lending them out to people.

However, I would put forward the fact that Brandon Sanderson popped into my head at a particularly important moment as evidence of my Superfan-ness:

I was deep in the analytical writing section of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination, for those who don't know, the test most graduate programs require) and the topic I was supposed to be dissecting was perseverance, can practice really make perfect or something like that (you only have 45 minutes to write the essay, so it's now sort of a blur). I'd argued the counterpoint and was trying to conjure examples and the first one that sprang to mind was how Brandon Sanderson wrote more than a dozen novels before he was published, etc. And so I proceeded to rattle on for a couple of paragraphs about "Brandon Sanderson, the well-known fantasy novelist, blah blah blah..."

Anyway, I got a perfect score on that essay, which I was totally not expecting, and I must credit the greatest of the example for it.

Who else but a true Superfan would think of that at such a high pressure "my whole future might depend on this" type of moment?

I rest my case.

Maybe it's Bastille who dies...  (really this time) ;D

I just can't get into this movie, no matter how great the visuals are supposed to be. The plot is nothing more than "Dances With Wolves" meeting science fiction... One friend also described it to me as "Pocahontas with blue people."

Is it really worth seeing even though the plot is tenuously interesting?

I agree... Scholastic doesn't seem very big on promoting it.... And it took stores in my areas forever to order in copies, even after I had requested that they do so....

Which is a total bummer, because I, too, have many short friends who would benefit from learning Kaz's rules.... short people make smaller targets.  ;D

I suppose I'm a little late in the game here, but I just had the opportunity to read it yesterday. I wish there was more... it only took me a few hours to read, and I do love Alcatraz. There were so many great lines... She Who Cannot Be Named (Swcbn.... bahaha)... the bathroom humor trifecta... crapaflapnasti...

I loved Folsom and Himalaya, especially the scene where Himalaya is sorting the books.

And did we ever clear up the idea of whether or not there would be a fifth book? I was always under the impression there would be...

I've long given up caring whether I'm pronouncing fake Fantasy words and names "correctly", for the sake of my sanity.

Too true.

I still can't make myself say "say zed." It always comes out more like "suh zad,"(with the 'a' being like you were saying 'ah!'). I have no idea why, because "say zed" makes way more sense with the spelling...  :-\

I do pride myself on the fact that I finally think I figured out "Nynaeve" though.

There will have to be a little tea party at the very, very end with Cad., Moiraine, Nynaeve, Elaida and the ghost of Verin all promising to stay the heck out of everyone's business from then on.  Just be glad I'm not writing this.

bahaha.... that would be nice.

My favorite day of the year, hands down... for on what other day can you truly munch heads?

Alcatraz is definitely NOT too kiddish. I'm 21 and I thoroughly enjoy it.

That would be great if Brandon moved to Dallas... it's within reasonable driving distance... However, one of my post-college back-up plans includes moving to Utah to haunt such wonderful signings, etc.  ;D

Yeah... I don't think being young, single, male or female really has anything to do with whether or not one likes Cadsuane.

I understand her perspective, but that doesn't make her less annoying. But I honestly think it's a mark of great writing that I can be really truly irritated by a fictional character.

And I agree with Douglas that Moiraine managed to gain Rand's trust. Nothing about Cadsuane or her behavior would make me trust her... she asks so much of Rand, but she gives nothing in return.

Also, and I forgot to mention this earlier: how about Elaida? I totally did a "whoop" when she got captured by the Seanchan. Totally served her smug little self right.  ;D

Cadsuane is bloody irritating... but she's supposed to be, so I deal.

I love that Rand and Lews Therin have finally... merged more. (I guess that's the right word.) The whole concept there of being someone from the past, of being the same person, and yet not, over and over again, is just fascinating.

Also, Verin is my hero. 'Nuff said.

Yes, read Alcatraz... if that doesn't brighten up your day then you must be made of stone...

Anyway, thanks for posting the pictures! Those of us who are unlucky enough not to live in Utah get really bummed missing out on these things.

Personally, I think that since this book is going to be a satisfying read by itself, with a clear book division, there will be little reason to wait. On the other hand, if you do wait, it only has to be two more years, since Brandon will meet his deadlines.
I would laugh, but this truth is so painful that I can't manage it. It certainly will be a strange feeling to know for real when the next WoT book will come out.

lol, it is a strange feeling, but it's brought such comfort and stability to my life.  ;D

So who's read Jason Denzel's review of TGS on Dragonmount? If you haven't, here's the link:http://www.dragonmount.com/News/?p=585

It's got me even more excited, if that's even possible.
