Brandon Sanderson / Re: WoK: Spren and Hoid (spoilers)

And as far as we've seen thus far, DeathSpren come around when something is dying, they don't bond to people to give people that mastery.

So to be clear, when people mention Deathspren, are they talking about the people with wavy lines where their heads should be?

Also, doesn't it seem really, really odd that Gavilar names Sadeas as a potential murderer when Sadeas is the man who pretended to be Gavilar?).

Well, the King could have come to the conclusion merely because Sadeas was the one that suggested that he pretend to be the king, running away with the guards, leaving Gavilar to face the assassin alone. Pretty convenient.

Even knowing that the Parshendi had hired the assassin, he handed over the orb or whatever and said 'Don't let them get this'. I assume he is referring to someone else because he wouldn't have mentioned it at all if he were worried about the Parshendi.

Secondly when Dalinar hears/remembers the voice of the Almighty telling him to "unite them"  he always assumes this means the highprinces. I got the distinct feeling that he should be uniting something more. possibly the parshendi with the alethi, or maybe parshendi and parshmen.

Yeah, just rename them Skeksis and Mystics.

Ack... I cannot figure out how to edit old posts.  Sorry about that.

I may have gotten Alocar wrong.   I meant the guy who stole Kaladin's sword, what was his name?

That was Amaran or however you spell it.

I view Szeth in the same light as Marsh.

I imagine it would go down a little something like this

Although, to be fair, we only know how Hoid talks, not how he writes. For a lot of people (including myself), those two can differ greatly.

True. I talk in a low monotone voice but write in a high pitched melodical voice.

390 Kaladin lights his torch twice on this page: once immediately after touching down, and again after Rock and Teft arrive.

Yeah, I saw this one and laughed because after mentioning him lighting it a second time he mentions that they are rationing the torches.

Mine was straight, so it's probably just the shipment. Were there more than one book that were like that? Where do you live/How humid is it there? Vegas is a desert so....

Some day, Brandon will be really hungry, and we'll never see Miyabi again. T_T

Wonder what sort of metallurgical abilities he would provide. An increase in font color perhaps.

Yeah, I've noticed that you never see Miyabi and EUOL post at the same time. Coincidence? I think not.

I'm not sure where you can see them other than the book itself, but there are no spoilers in the artwork as far as I can tell.

I don't know how significant, and I haven't finished the book yet thanks to these 18 hour work days the last couple weeks, but Dalinar mentions trying to figure out the pattern of the shattered plains or something along those lines. Obviously, pattern doesn't have to mean the actual layouts of the plains but the map is there and would definately add to the reading experience.

Is it acceptable to scan the images and send to Kain or are there other options available?

Maybe they will be explained to you, a picture is worth a thousand words.

"So there's this guy sitting on top of a crab looking thing and some tiny sketches and notes about drilling into the shell of the crablike creature. You know, I guess it was pretty presumptuous of me to assume it was a guy. I guess in this world girls could look like guys, whatever. Anyway, so there's SOMEONE sitting on top of a crab and...wait, isn't it time for Crabfest at Red Lobster? I could really go for a Crab Lover's trio right about now. Although, I did get sick the last time I ate at the one off exit 54 but it could have been unrelated. You know, I might just give them another shot; looking at this succulent rock lobster for like the last 5 minutes has really gotten my mouth watering. Hah! Rock Lobster. I just LOVE Family Guy. Anywho, there's a pencil sketch of a guy and his lobster. Chapter 9. Damnation. Ten people, with Shardblades alight, standing....I said guy again, didn't I. Jeez! You know, I put in my two week notice yesterday and I have totally checked out."

Cool pics. I'm jealous since there isn't a Vegas signing again this year. :(
