News:
A lot of people describe Scalzi’s Old Man's War novels as military science fiction, but I would classify its sequel Zoë’s Tale as a space opera. It’s a story about, well, Zoë, a teenage girl whose parents are invited to take leadership roles in building a colony on a new planet. Zoë is an enthusiastic member of the group sent to colonize Roanoke, despite the risks—and the risks are considerable even before the political machinations of greater powers boil to the surface. I just wanted to say thanks for coming into class today. It was really great to see another point of view of writing.
Even if you didn't give me a book. But I guess I do get a fell point, so I guess that's even better, because then I'll be able to pay for the British version rather than the bad american covers.

I'm not reading the replies (I haven't read it yet) but here's Dan's thoughts on the horror thing. (As in, this is what he just said five minutes ago). "I call it psychological thriller because it avoids all the entanglement of 'horror' ".

I'm willing to bet that's a piece of Lorem Ipsum, which is latin looking and sounding text that in fact means nothing. It's mostly used for figuring out the way a webpage will look once you throw the real text in, but is a safe way of doing it without messing with copywrite laws.
