Wizards has delayed "phase 2" an extra month, mainly because they received more than 10,000 submissions. I don't know how many they were expecting to receive, but the delay isn't really a surprise (their original plan was to announce phase two after less than two weeks--yeah right). So we can all keep waiting until the first week of August.

I think a Blizzard FPS is definitely a possibility. After all, if they'll do someting as out-of-character as a MMORPG then there's really no telling what they will or won't do. It would be great if they did an RPG, though I'd appreciate something closer to Fallout than Diablo.

Blizzard's next project? I'm kind of hoping for Starcraft 2, but I think we have to wait a little longer for that one. Whatever the next project is, it will likely come from Blizzard North; all they've ever done is Diablo and Diablo 2, and they've anounced rather firmly that they're not working on Diablo 3. So it's hard to predict. I tend to think it will be a new world altogether, but I can't imagine what type of game it will be.

Because then if it wins, we'd either have to change our forum entirely or pay Wizards a license fee. I am, however, submitting an altered version of one of our early ideas for the forum--similar only in that the world(s) are shrinking. I don't think I'll submit the idea where the entire dimension is an enourmous bar.

Now that's some seriously cool stuff. Let's see how many settings I can whip up in the next few weeks?

There shall be no mockery of the mighty Tage---

Oh wait, this isn't the Tage fan club thread. Go ahead, then, beat him up.

It's too bad Christopher Walken wasn't in Dune. That would be another cool connection.

The weird part, Prometheus, is the area. Putting the shapes in different spots does not change the total area of the four shapes. It's not a matter of the conglomerate shape looking different, it's a matter of there suddenly being a hole in the middle of it that should not, technically, be there. Moving shapes around does not change their area.

(Well, unless you cheat, like this guy did, and hide it with thick lines.)

I'm always impressed by what translator programs are able to pull off--no matter how eloquent the original piece, they turn it into laughable (but usually intelligible) English. It's a question I've always wondered about Star Trek--when they use the universal translators, does it make them sound like backwater hicks to whatever new race they've just encountered? When aliens come to Earth and try to communicate, will they all talk like hillbillies?

Here's cool link you can all look at: www.seanbaby.com

the guy swears like a sailor, but he sure is funny. The site is basically a bunch of random essays on nintendo, the Justice League of America, and stupid world news. My personal favorites are the Exciting Kick to the Groin Adventures. You'll just have to read it to find out--it's too weird to explain.
