True sociopathy is a combination of physiology and emotional trauma.

John's Impala is the exact car I drove in high school. I've never actually seen Supernatural, but I think it's cool they use an Impala.

Most of Guy Gavriel Kay's books are set in a different cultural background. His newest, which I believe is called Under Heaven, is set in China.

Dan Wells / Re: Pain of Glass and Nightbringer

This is what I get when I don't check the forums.

Pain of Glass: The book is not under contract, but has been heavily revised and sent to my editors and agent to see if they want to buy it. So far only the German editor has gotten back to me, and he loved it (and said it was one of the craziest books he's ever read). The title (as are all my titles) is just a working title unlikely to survive. Though if people think it makes the book offensive, I'm more likely to fight for it :)

Nightbringer: Wow. I love this story, I just really don't think the time is right for it. I've got 1...2...3 more ideas that I'm far more excited about than this. This is why I write books before going under contract: because what excites me changes so rapidly, I'd hate to be stuck with one thing when I really wish I was writing something else.

Extreme Makeover: Apocalypse Edition: This book is really fun, and would be awesome with that title. I guess we'll see, but I can't imagine a situation in which it would be possible.

New Submitted Proposal: I will say only that it is neither a book nor a publisher you expect. It's a wacky idea, but could be a lot of fun if it works out.

The real question is how long it took to tell the joke. I used a greatly abridged version in the book, but I've heard presentations of the hippopotamus joke that can last 30 minutes or more.

If I can get it without the bacon scent, I'm there. I have yet to find an allegedly bacon-scented item that didn't smell completely horrible.

Bookstore Guy, I'm all over it. That sounds awesome.

Movies and TV / Re: Anyone watch Caprica?
« on: February 22, 2010, 09:12:53 PM »
I tried to watch Caprica, but it's awful--really and truly just a slow, horrible mess of a show. And this is coming from a guy loved BSG so much, I even loved the ending. I tried to like Caprica, and I gave it three weeks, but I just can't.

I'm having some trouble getting it up on teh site, but it will be coming, I promise. And we'll have full video too, so yay.

I can't imagine why you decided not to share that one with everyone you know.

I'm glad you like it; I've been preaching their glory for months.

I order from them all the time; I've probably bought 60 books there. I've never had a problem.
