Everything Else / Re: How Badly Would You Guys Kill Me?

The consultation is not necassary.

I was assuming that you would understand that by dead I mean beaten-within-an-inch-of-his-life-so-that-we-can-nurse-him-back-to-health-so-that-we-can-do-it-again-after-burning-all-his-treasured-possesions-then-doing-it-again.

that's all you think they'd do? they have the imagination and means to do much worse. It'd involve everyone you've ever loved, everyone you've ever liked, everyone you've ever been indifferent to, everyone you wouldn't want dead, everything you've ever made, every good memory you've ever had, every thought you've ever been proud of, then they'd take everyone not dead and put them in your favorite place after giving them everything you've ever wanted/liked. Then they'd reveal none of it was real, it was just some magic illusion and they'd repeat the process, until someone points out "hey, isn't this overkill?" then they'll do it ten or so more times until someone says, "come on, isn't this a bit excessive? I mean, his brain's already imploded." then they'd do it eight or so more times before stopping.
And they they'd feed-
actually, I think you understand, though you realise that was a huge simplification.
The moral of the story; never post to yourself to level up.

well, that was long. whatever, I figure I'll just delete this post when I have a lapse of sanity sometime.

"While we ourselves are the living graves of murdered beasts, how can we expect any ideal conditions on this earth?"
George Bernard Shaw

I don't necessairily agree with the whole "everyone go vegetarian!" opinion, I just adore the "living grave" concept.

sorry if this was posted earlier, just tell me and I'll get rid of this, I didn't have time to go through all 24 pages of quotes

Ak! Hiss! Hiss!

Wow, that's pretty good, but is it just me or is your blurrier for some reason?

actually, why didn't chimera just crop out the bottom and get rid of the text in the bubbles in paint. And then print it out and add the writing?

ok, I didn't like few things about that first one (actually, only one thing) so here's the new Suped up! version (sorry, I don't know how to spell that)

I didn't like how the word squirrel was slanted
(yes, I'm a total perfectionist about things like that)

actually, I think it was better that first way, now all the letters in the first bubble seem way too slanted

I don't think the comparison's valid at all.

But I don't think it really matters anyway.

I still think the vegetable lovers are silly.

I have to get out of the habit of using analogies whenever I wan't to prove something, because when I can't think up a good example I end up just using a bad one. Anyway, imagine my post was something more like; "just try to sypathize with them" or "look at things from their point of view" or whatever.

Look at me, the valiant defender of vegetable worshippers.

Chimera? here's the picture with the changes, though One eyed green person's will probably be better since all I used was paint.

is that how it was supposed to be?

I meant that not thinking before or while you were typing was a big mistake. And, I disagree. Its material is important to know because your lack of knowledge on the subject makes you appear foolish, and the opinions of fools are less likely to be accepted by those of intelligence.

I was thinking before I was typing, my point is just that I was thinking about my argument and what I could compare that situation to, I decided to use the Statue of liberty. After my basic argument I decided I could mention how the radish is alive and the statue isn't. I wrote that the radish is alive and not made of stone.
I wasn't thinking about it's material, I was thinking about it's statueness, and the default material for statues in my head is stone. The problem just came from the fact that I was thinking more about my metaphor then the statue's material.

So when someone pointed out it was made from copper I changed it.

A MAJOR mistake to make.

It's material doesn't really matter to my argument though.

In your if you read that it was copper somewhere, then it is all the more reason why you should know that it isn't made out of rock.

sorry, it just didn't come to mind when I was writing it, like I know it's hollow, and there's no way they'd be able to make a hollow stone statue that big. But I wasn't really thinking about it as I was writing.

ok, in my defense, from the outside it looks like a rock.
Actually, I think I read that it was made of copper somewhere, anyway, I'll just modify that last post

Still, it's like a smaller scale version of someone chopping off the head of the statue of liberty.
Plus, the radish is alive and not just a big piece of copper.
(that actually might not be that good of an example, since the statue of liberty isn't as much a symbol of american society and ideals as it is a pretty statue lots of people know, while to those villagers that radish represents persistence and determination and such)

Lightning, you really need to read the book.

Quote
Yes. It was clearer in the books.

sorry, I read it, but only around the time the book came out, so I don't remember very much.

*now, to salvage what's left of my whole argument about harry saving that girl*

Still though, it wasn't explained in the movie and when you add that to quite a few other things, they can seem sloppily put together and unexplained

Those sort of things only appear when you really think about them though, and overall, it was definately a good movie

Books / Re: Giving away books!

Personnally, giving out books online would be a really good strategy on me since reading big bodies of text on a screen sort of hurts my eyes, I'm ok with the articles and forums here, since they aren't as big, but with a book I'd only be able to read a chapter or so before having to buy it so I can read it on paper.

Although, on second thought, I'd probably be less likely to get it, because i'd have to be expecially good for me to be able to keep reading.
