I'm sorry you're so homesick for Boston. Here's hoping that you find the awesome job you've always wanted right here in Boston and get to come back!
But.... in the meantime, just try to picture all the freezing winds and huge snowdrifts that you'll be lucky enough to miss come winter. you know, every time anyone mentions the weather, they always seem to say stuff that makes me think I'll need a Taun-Taun to get around when the snow begins in Jan.  :P

I forgot to mention that I went rock climbing/repelling in a gym yesterday.

Hey, did you go to that place called the Quarry over by Movies 8 in Provo? I've heard it's cool. My brothers have gone there before.

A little something for all of you, both Transformer fans and Star Wars fans:

Oooh, those are awesome! I've gotta get one to keep Wickett company! I remember watching Transformers all the time.
Of course, I think, in the last episode I watched, Optimus Prime died.  :'( There was broken glass and raging fire involved... Or maybe it was so traumatic that I only -think- it was the last one I ever saw. Dang, now I'm sad. I'd better go look at the Vader/TIE Fighter toy again...

lol. I started reading Dragonsteel.  Note the "started." I didn't dislike it, per se. But I didn't get past the scene where the protagonist's "Tonto" figure dressed up as a woman... It struck me as odd that this huge dude would dress as the woman while the skinny jester fella dressed as the man. Huh. Anyway, by then I'd gotten a hold of an old hardcopy of ELANTRIS from EUOL, so Dragonsteel went back to the HBLL.  ;)

She's so darling! Thanks for the pics. I'm glad I got to see what the littlest timewaster looks like. I remember being at the HPC when you told us the cool news that a baby was on board. :D

Yeah, it's a little far out of my way. I've met some other WLP (Writing, Lit, and Publishing) people up at a Coldstone in Fenway, but other than that (and one time walking around Fenway Park itself), I haven't gotten up there much. Oh, that reminds me of "Fever Pitch," this movie my roomie rented mainly because it's a love story wrapped in a homage to the Red Sox. I kinda liked it, actually, in spite of Drew Barrymore. I dunno, she kind of annoys me usually (though I liked her in "Ever After"). The story and characters kept my interest and the humor kept me amused. Not a bad flick after all.
I just hope HP 4 is more spectacular than the rumors are making it out to be...

I am super-excited about going opening night. I didn't think it would happen at this point, but it did. All my dreams are coming true! (Yes, I am easy to please.  ;))

Me, too! I mean, I've also got a ticket for HP IV on Friday. We're going to see it in Loews Theater in downtown Boston. :D  It's my favorite theater out here so far. Plus, before the flick, some friends and I are going to PF Chang's for dinner. Mmmm.

Heck, I'll even take collections for no particular cause whatsoever. But, as for Worldcon and Campbell nominations, I think we all know who should be filling the coffers....
<EUOL: I take CCs, Paypal, personal checks, and money orders.  :D>
I'm definitely planning on going, though, despite the hefty $175 reg fee. I should be visiting UT again in August anyway, and I have a friend in Ontario, CA whom I could stay with--the forensics panelist I met at CONduit--so that'll help with the costs. I'm sure he'll want to register for Worldcon, too. It'll be awesome to know so many people there. Who all is coming besides Stacer, EUOL, e, EricJames, and Fell?
Oh, Fell lives in CA somewhere, right? So I imagine a bunch of you guys might crash at his place. "Hurray!" for friends who live in con cities!  :D

Smallville is a guilty pleasure of mine. I missed the Aquaman episode, though. Hmm, I wish I'd missed the Halloween "vampire virus" episode instead... That one sucked.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't watch a series on Aquaman. Eh, just doesn't sound that thrilling.

Besides, I only have so much TV time I can squeeze in between studying and everything else. And I don't see myself replacing my weekly "quality time" with Welling any time soon. ;)

I didn't know they'd gone with a different composer this time around. I love S&S, too, but I agree w/ Stacer that it's got a different mood to it.
Really, I don't remember being really in love with all the music from HP by Williams. I mean, some of it just wasn't that memorable. My bro downloaded a bunch from Limewire and I only selected a few theme tracks because that's all I really liked.

Hmm, isn't a shrug basically a small shawl? <shrain shows that she might not be as fashion chic and savvy as she thought she was>

Anyway, I have two, count them, two joyous things to relate!

I got a coveted A+ on my latest asignment for my Book Pub Overview class. I did this content/design/organization critique of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Publishing Science Fiction. (Yeah, you're probably thinking "book report," but this wasn't your typical book report, honest!) I gave that book a thorough going-over and enjoyed it thoroughly. Not a bad reference book, actually, but that's the topic for another post (maybe).

Next happy thing: my friend (a criminalist from CA whom I met at CONduit) just got a promotion. Sweeet! He so deserved it, too. He's practically running the entire lab, keeping the cases from reaching critical mass and imploding. :D

That's my "If he's like this on THIS panel, what's he going to be like on the alien sex panel he's doing next?" look.

WOW, that is seriously hilarious--both your expression, EUOL (hi again by the way). and the soused author beside you. haha. Man, I'm sorry I missed that con...

Good deal. I figured that you probably had loose pocket change in mind. However, I also amused myself by postulating that you have some bizarre obsession with pants, like if you'd established a Pants Purchasing Fund, which can be used in case of pizza emergencies.

Yeah, I'm pretty bored right now. I've still got about 150 pages of book pub marketing crap to wade through. *sigh*
