I hear you about Gaz.  I mainly put him on the list to round it out to 5 rather than have a top 4.   ;D

He seemed to have a few redeeming qualities.

Ack... I cannot figure out how to edit old posts.  Sorry about that.

I may have gotten Alocar wrong.   I meant the guy who stole Kaladin's sword, what was his name?

Brandon Sanderson / WoK: Kaladin and Syl *Spoilers*
« on: September 07, 2010, 08:41:34 PM »
It seems like every time Kaladin does something honorable or heroic, Syl grows in power and/or gains memory.  Do you agree with that?  What is Syl becoming, what is her ultimate form?  Will she top out in power eventually or will she keep going?

Also, do you think there is any chemistry between the two?  Kaladin keeps commenting in his head that Syl is "pretty".  Do you think he'll get the sweets for her or Syl for him?  Will they even be able to get "romantic"?

Szeth is totally unforgiveable in my eyes.  He cut down women in children during some of his rampages.  There is no unbreakable magic spell forcing him to kill innocents... just his sense of "honor".

OK, I just finished listening to the Way of Kings audio book and it took my breath away.  Was that the best ending ever or what?   :o  Brandon is getting better and better with every book he writes, and Mistborn was already one of the best books I’ve read.

One thing that really got to me was just how much I hated the villains in the book.  I really wanted to just reach into the book and strangle those rat bastards, didn’t you?  I’m not truly sure why I disliked those villains more than villains from other books… maybe I hated them more because they seemed more realalistic than the typical mustache twirler?

Anyways, here’s my list in order of villains that need to die.  Forgive my spelling of some of the names because I have only listened to the audio book so far and haven’t read my hardcover copy yet.

(the King of Kharbranth, right?)
Sadious = Sadeas

#1 King Taravangian  – a true bastard
#2 Szeth – I can’t wait for Kaladin to take him out.  He knows what he is doing is horribly wrong, but he does it anyway in the name of his hooky religion or culture or whatever.
#3 Sadeas - I can't believe he betrayed Dalinor even after having his life saved
#4 Amaran
#5 Brightlord Roshone

Brandon Sanderson / Way of Kings on iTunes?
« on: August 30, 2010, 11:09:43 PM »
I wanted to check and make sure that Way of Kings is coming out on iTunes on day one.  Is that the case?

If not, when will it be released in France?

Brandon Sanderson / Mistborn Trilogy Sequel *Spoilers*
« on: July 01, 2010, 04:09:50 PM »
So, after reading the annotations and the summaries of some of Brandon's interviews, we have a good idea of what the next Mistborn Trilogy is going to look like.

Here's a summary of what I've gathered so far:

1. The next trilogy will be set either 500 or 1000 years after the end of Mistborn #3
2. Brandon plans to complete two books in the Stormlight Archives universe then write a book based in another universe (maybe a Mistborn Sequel book), then repeat the pattern
3. The main character will burn Necrosil (someone who can cause duralumin effects in others by touching them and burning Necrosil)
4. Sazed will still be god
5. Marsh and TenSoon will still be around
6. Even though at the end of Mistborn #3 there were some teasers that Sazed may try and bring Vin and Elend back, this will not happen

My Thoughts:

1. I really would like to see Vin again in the sequel trilogy.  I know it may not make story-wise sense to bring her back, but I really enjoyed her character.   I would be satisfied if one of the characters in the new book is a descendant of Vin and Elend, but alas this cannot happen.
2. Hopefully the descendants of some of the other characters show up.  I'm sure Breeze, General Demoux (spelling?) and Spook married their sweeties and had children.

Brandon Sanderson / Breeze's Girlfriend?
« on: July 01, 2010, 03:50:03 AM »
I listened to Mistborn #3 on audio book, so I really can't go back easily and review the last chapters.  I also checked the annotations.

My question:
What ever happened to Breeze's girlfriend?
