Everything Else / Need X-Files Movie to Borrow for Saturday the 25th
« on: October 24, 2008, 12:12:18 AM »
I have looked 7 different places to buy it and 2 to rent it and the library. Apparently it's not a very popular movie  :-\

Anyone have a copy I can borrow for the rifftrax on Saturday? Otherwise we'll have to watch the Fantasic Four or something.

The Jade Knight submitted this poll.

If your vote for worst movie isn't on the list, tell us what it is and why!

Suggestions Box / Holiday Names

For those of you new to the forums, us regular forum-goers like to mix things up and bit and try to be clever with our nicknames around the holidays.

Spriggan usually has a Christmas name contest every year, where people vote and the winner gets an award.

And while I know it's too late really to have a Halloween contest, I came up with a good one this year, I think! (Christmas always stumps me... dunno why)

Site News / Rifftrax October 2008 - Halloween Party

Alright. Let's try this again. Who would be in the mood for an October party?

Saturday, October 25th, 6pm for pot luck and the movie at 7:30ish - my house, of course.

X-Files movie would be a good choice, as it's semi-halloweenish.

If there isn't enough interest I'll just wait until December for a Christmas/New Years kind of gig.

I'll be hosting another rifftrax the second half of September (I'm thinking the 20th). We can do BBQ, potluck, etc, same as last time, the weather should still be good.

We're thinking the movie should be the X-Files one (http://www.rifftrax.com/rifftrax-presents/x-files-fight-future).

Who's game?

Ya, just unimpressed generally. Doesn't help that I read it right after the superbly written The Name of the Wind.

No question, it's a well written set of books, but it was rather disturbing.

My favorite character through most of the books was Logan, until halfway through the 3rd book when I began to question his character. He seemed to be trying to change, but in the end he made choices that didn't allow him to, and I wondered if he really wanted to change afterall.

By the end I liked Glokta the best, because he's the one who seems to make the best of everything, more than anyone else. And as someone who spends the whole book doing just awful things, he sort of redeems himself by the end.
