Site News / Re: February 2008 Rifftrax Party
« on: January 31, 2008, 01:42:31 AM »
I bought both Eragon and Fantastic Four (used) just so I could do Rifftrax with them. So I can provide the movies and Rifftrax. Any weekend works for me (now that I have a new job, yay!)

Mistings are people born with the ability to burn a specific metal. They don't get to choose it, thought that would make for an interesting society.

Now that, notxaxlie, was both hilarious and enlightening.

And hey, the first step is acknowledging. I expect a teenage girl to act like a teenage girl. Being self-aware of it all gives you a much better chance of turning into a worthwhile human being.

That's pretty amusing. I'm not sure if you saw Brandon's recent journal post, but it was about "not getting" social networking sites like Facebook. I think a lot of us older farts feel that way. I have a Facebook account too, but I always ignore all the weird addon things that people throw at me. I use it to check the status of people I know, and that's pretty much it.

I've heard people can spend hours on it, but I have  no idea what they're doing. So, what ARE you doing for hours on Facebook? (also, this thread might need to be moved to general)

I understood the "deepness" to refer to the mist, rather than the entity causing the mist.

Really? Well shoot, maybe *I* missed something when I was reading through them. I could have sworn the Deepness was the one in the well, because the mists are, uh, you know.

A few of us on the forums have already read MB3. Mok wasn't saying that the thing's name wasn't the Deepness, only that it is named the Deepness explicity in the second book, though it's easy to miss.

I'm not sure why the Deepness wanted Zane to kill everyone around him, other than the Deepness just having a basic desire for entropy.

I can answer a few questions, but I'll avoid outright spoilers.

1) That is a reasonable conclusion.
4) Your "EWSOD" is the Deepness
6) Basically, yes
7) I don't think so, but I don't remember
8) Elend did not Snap in the usual way, and his power is directly related to the pellet.

Oh, I didn't even see that you posted this. I've never gotten the feeling he has an excessive ego, but I guess I can see where someone might think that.

I need to get those books back from you, too.

I am almost sure you said, right after you got back, that you would never watch it again.

However, I may take you up on your offer. Assuming you and Drew aren't going crazy with wedding plans.

Coolness

He's the Fonz to Ken's Ron Howard.

In the sense that it would be the nerdiest Happy Days ever conceived, that's actually a pretty decent analogy.
