Brandon Sanderson / Re: Dragonsteel **SPOILERS**
« on: December 14, 2008, 12:57:33 AM »
I'm marking this thread as a spoiler thread in case people decide they want to try to get their hands on the original Dragonsteel.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Hoid??

Wow, it's been a long time since I looked at this thread. It's also been a while since Brandon explained his Unified Brandon Sanderson Metaverse Theory, but from what I remember...

Elantris, Dragonsteel, and Mistborn take place on different worlds, though they are in the same universe.
Hoid is the same person in all the books. It's not a title or group or anything, it's actually the same guy.

I just mentioned this in another thread, but Alcatraz doesn't take place in the same universe as Brandon's adult fantasy books. Well, at the time it was written anyway, you never know what might get ret-conned later. :)

Now the real question. Are Opelon and Mistborn in the same universe? Literally speaking, of course. How far away are the planets from eachother. That interests me greatly.

Most of Brandon's adult fantasy books (i.e. everything except Alcatraz and Scribbler) take place in the same metaverse, which is one reason you'll see Hoid in them. I don't think Warbreaker is in the same metaverse, but I don't recall now.

I can come. I'll bring the Riff, the iPod, and the iPod dock.

Dang, I don't check these forums nearly as often as I used to. That's really sad Nessa! Hopefully we'll see you on sometime in the future though, when things settle down (and when you learn how to tell people "no, I can't be online that night" :)

Yeah, Dan's a loser and decided not to reactivate. But Stacer, you should check with Nessa for scheduled things, she's always scheduling raids ahead of time. :)

I also can't do the 13/14, but the weekend before or after would be fine. Personally I'd vote for the indoor movie. Outdoor can be fun, but the sound is always bad, you have to start really late, and then there are the bugs. I can definitely bring the ipod and ipod dock.

I know you already have the Riff for Eragon, but I've got it on my iPod and I have a nice iPod sound dock, so I'll bring those just in case it makes things easier.

I'm bringing chips! Also Gunda and her boyfriend said they're probably coming. I'll probably try to talk Heidi into coming as well.

Mark me as uncommitted.

And I mean that in a general sense, too.

So we're at week-of, is this still tentative? I think we should do it Saturday. I can provide both Eragon and the Rifftrax.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Question about Zane at the end of tWoA [spoilers]
« on: February 15, 2008, 02:56:45 AM »
I hate spoilers as much as Brandon does, but I don't consider this a spoiler since it really isn't part of the third book.

Yes, Zane is dead.
