So how are things in California? Have you been feeling better?

Site News / Winter cleaning
« on: December 13, 2005, 05:08:55 PM »
So, the forums are getting kind of slow. We use flat-files with this YaBB, instead of a database, and more posts = more files = more mess. I'd like to propose we clean out any posts that are older than 2 year. Does anyone have any objections, or know of any threads posted over 2 years ago that need saving?

Suggestions Box / Child's Play link
« on: November 30, 2005, 04:40:03 PM »
E did a great write-up for Child's Play, but I would like to put a permanent blurb banner up for December. Anyone object or have comments?

Video Games / Throw a dog a Bone

So, I don't have time to check this out now, but this is a new adventure game made by many of the same people who made those great old LucasArts games (Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island). I loved the Monkey Islands, so hopefully this is as good.

Everything Else / Little shop... little shop of horrors
« on: June 21, 2005, 03:07:32 PM »
Well I've checked with a few people around, and the Orem Public Library, with no luck, so I thought I'd throw it out here. Do any of you Utah folk have the sheet music for Little Shop of Horrors?

Everything Else / tech writers
« on: May 02, 2005, 07:54:53 PM »
So, is anyone interested in possibly being a tech writer for an internet company? Full-time salary, part-time isn't an option.

Video Games / WoW roll call
« on: April 27, 2005, 10:05:26 PM »
Ok, I could go revive the old WoW thread but I'm too lazy. Through some trading shenanigans, Fell will finally be playing WoW again, and I convinced him to play on Nathrezim with me and my roommate. It's a low-pop PVP server. If anyone wants to make a character there and join the 3 of us, now's the time to do it, as Fell and I work on new characters. My main is a Tauren druid named Cadamis.

Also, should I ever feel like trying alliance, what servers do the rest of you play on?

Site News / New Forum Section
« on: April 06, 2005, 06:14:34 PM »
Seeing as how our site has two local authors on it, neither of whom run their own forum, we thought it would be a good idea to create sections for them. Please go and post news and fan ravings in their sections, so they don't look quite so lonely.

Rants and Stuff / Nintendo day
« on: March 10, 2005, 06:29:44 PM »
So, today is March 10th. I didn't think much of this until I looked at the date display on my phone. It says "MAR10".

So I figure today would make a good candidate for national Nintendo day.

Rants and Stuff / For those wondering...

I'm not sure who did this, but someone set:
w u t (minus the spaces)
to:
I'm a moron
in the forum filter. That's explains some of Skippy's behaviour. Not much, but some.

Music / a shameless plug
« on: February 09, 2005, 12:18:20 AM »
Well, I know we have a bunch of old gamers hanging around here, so I thought I'd mention that the new OneUp Studios album is out. It's called Xenogears: Light, and it's mostly piano (with occaisonal other instruments) arrangements of the Xenogears music. I have a copy and can definitely give it my recommendation. Also, this web site is mentioned in the liner notes. :)

Video Games / The Essential 50
« on: December 28, 2004, 06:50:30 PM »
I read through a bunch of these today during a slow afternoon at work. It's a list of the 50 most "important" video games, and for the most part I agree with their opinions. Each game gets a pretty long description, so it's perfect for time-wasting. :)

Webcomics & Free Stuff / Xombie
« on: December 14, 2004, 02:02:12 PM »
I don't know if this has been posted already, but I've never seen Xombie before. Man, this guy needs to be writing for real shows, I love the episodes I've seen so far.
