Congratulations!
News:
"Magic is what makes fantasy fantastic," someone says, "you can't apply rules to them or else it loses wonder!" I respond, "Sure, but if you want to write them you will certainly want to know how they work." Writing is all about execution, and I find applying some basic laws of physics to magic systems make them more understandable and realistic. Here, I'm going to outline my basic method for developing a magic system.

The belt that runs my power steering on my minivan shredded today. Now I get to try to drive it to a dealership to get it fixed on Monday with no power steering. Oh, and the alternator isn't working correctly, either--I think the same belt affects it. Wheeee!

I'm happy because I had about 18 inches of hair cut off yesterday. Now my hair is right at shoulder length. It's healthy, it's pretty, and there's not as much of it for Brenna to yank out of my skull all at once. Yay!

Her name's Eden. And I think she didn't actually use her power on Mohinder.
It looks like she doesn't like having to use it against someone's will, so I'm guessing she just used regular powers of persuasion on Mohinder, and that's why it didn't work.
