Well, I'm sure we'll come up with something else to make fun of your hunter for, besides questionable sexual orientation or anime-style hair. 

Fellfrosch--are you there? I know you got a new job...but don't give up on Kareyla or TWG!!! That goes for Gemm, Dawn, Parker, and any others with crazy schedules. We miss you all.

I told EUOL this a long time ago, but the only way to make the Alcatraz audio book uber-cool would be to get the totally awesome reader of the Harry Potter auidobooks to read it--Jim Dale. But since EUOL has no say, my recommendation has even less influence. It is being published by Scholastic, who chose Jim Dale for HP, so hopefully they will make a similar excellent selection for Alcatraz.

It's probably a good thing that EUOL isn't reading it. Because, even though I'm sure he'd do a good job, Jim Dale proves that having a professional voice actor makes all the difference. Leave the writing to EUOL, and the reading to the pros.

What I find interesting is that I read this book and had none of the reactions to it you had, Karen. Perhaps it is because, like you said, I haven't been in that situation. Now that you point it out, I can see where you are coming from, and I kind of agree with you. I wonder how many others, though, have been like me: They read it, they think, "Well, that was nice and interesting," and then they forget about it. (Not my favorite book--but I'd recommend it to someone who likes fairytale re-tellings.)

My main complaint with the book was that I had a hard time believing that the main character, as a mirror, could see all the things she saw. I remember there was a specific scene at dinner where she was under the table, yet was describing what was going on as if she could see it perfectly. I think that would have bothered me less if it was in 3rd person limited, but because it was in 1st person pov and supposed to be entirely from her view, it didn't work for me and became "unbelievable," throwing me out of the story.

We had a good group Friday night. Did a WC run, and then three of us did SFK--my rogue, Nessa's pally, and one of Micah's higher chars. I got some good stuff. 

I'm limiting my play time to weekends. I can get on next week on Saturday night, not Friday (plans). It'd be fun to do WC or SFK, I have chars that need both. Maybe we can plan for that. Any thoughts? Objections? Complaints? Compliments?
