I think a Lerasium/Atium alloy should be called Sazedium.

logic:
Preservation was bound to Leras and the metal is Lerasium.
Ruin was bound to Ati and the metal is Atium.
Both are now bound to Sazed and the metal is Sazedium.

This could possibly fit with some of what we see in Warbreaker too.  The Returned are definitely changed physically, they are also changed spiritually by having one super powerful breath, maybe they are changed mentally and we just don't know it?

They are changed mentally; their memories of their life before returning are erased.

I'll have to reread Elantris to be sure sure but as I recall most, if not all, of the people who were taken by the Shaod had been heeled by an Elantrian.

@ Six More Weeks of Kaz: just tap strength and/or speed
@Seaoftrouble: a well aimed Duralumin push can get you pretty far

Are there any stockpiles of Larasium (or is it Lerasium?) laying around somewhere? Or any place where it can be found "naturally" like the Pits of Hathsin? Or is Preservation's "body" tied up in Humans and the mists more than a specific metal? And if Preservation was needed to create Humans, how do Humans exist on other Shardworlds?

Gah, this was only supposed to be about larasium stockpiles, but my train of thought got going.

Oh, and do we know (or have theories about) what Atium alloys do? Besides Malatium (atium-gold) of course.

I can answer some of that.
According to Peter (pg. 63 of the HoA+Brandon Q&A thread) there was at least one other piece of Lerasium at the well other than those Elend, TLR, and the original nine Mistborn used. I think there was 5 others (16 in total) and that Hoid has at least one. Preservation isn't needed to create humans; he gave up part of himself in order to give them sentience. Due to the natures of their powers, Preservation and Ruin had to work together in order to create life on Scadrial but that doesn't mean other Shards can't create life on their own or haven't arrived on worlds that already had it. All we know for certain about Atium alloys is what we were given on the table of allomantic metals. "In alloy form, it produces various expanded mental and temporal effects."  We also know that Atium's "known" use is probably actually just a side effect (Lerasium creating Mistborn (and Mistings as an alloy) is actually a side effect of it's true, unknown effect).

He definitely reminded me of Rand, but then again, I discovered Brandon's work because he's finishing WoT so I might be a little biased.

First let me just say that we are all assuming, me included, that the physics of Cosmere are the same as those of our own universe and if they were to differ even slightly a lot, if not everything, that has been said becomes mute. While I'm at it the people of Scadrial, and likely all the worlds Brandon writes, do not have the same biology as us either.

Ok, that being said there is a limit to the speed at which a Feruchemist can travel but, it isn't a limitation of the Feruchemist, it's actually a limitation of their metalminds. That limit, 299 792 457.99999999... meters per second, infinitively close to, but not actually reaching the speed of light. Why? Relativity, that's why. An object that has mass cannot travel at, or beyond, the speed of light and, while the Feruchemist could theoretically store all their mass in a metalmind in order to travel at these speeds they would have to have massless metalminds, which cannot exist, in order to do this.

Warbreaker is also Adonalsium canon.

OK, I think I've got a couple goodies here.

1) Shadesmar is the name of the cognitive realm. Do the physical and spiritual realms have names as well and, if so, what are they?
2) Can we get a timeline for the release of the tables of Feruchemical and Hemalurgic metals, even just a rough one?

If any one letter in the steel alphabet represents a Mistborn it would have to be Lerasium. Looking at my Table of Allomantic Metals, I'd say the coolest looking are Brass, Duralumin and Tin, all of which are mostly symmetrical. Although I also like Atium and Lerasium.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: So There is Going to be a Mistborn Flick....

I think a Mistborn movie would be an excellent candidate to be made completely with motion capture and CGI. Could probably do some pretty awesome stuff with 3D effects in it as well. Of course, no matter what happens, if it gets made I will be going to see it the very first chance I get.

Quote from: Mistborn 3 Chapter 53 Annotation
However, he [Ruin] is a force given sentience—or, rather, sentience that has attached itself to a force. Regardless, that force drives him and dominates him.

I can't help but feel that there is a lot of significance in those couple sentences. I can't for life of me figure out what it might be right now, but I just know it's there.

I don't think that the number of magic systems is as directly correlated to the number of shards as has been assumed. After all, the magics are derived from the interactions between peoples' physiology and the shard(s) fuelling them so, theoretically, shards could exist that can't fuel a magic system on their own. It has also been confirmed by Brandon, see quote, that a single shard is capable of fuelling multiple systems on their own if they so desire.

1.  Both gods could, if they wanted, fuel all of the metallic arts.  Preservation is stronger at fueling Allomancy, Ruin stronger at fueling Allomancy or Feruchemy when it has been given via a spike.  Both are balanced when it comes to Feruchemy.  But this rarely comes up in the books, as it required expending power in a way that the gods were hesitant to do.

My apologies if this has already been discussed.

A Returned can hide their Uber Breath and change their appearance back to that of a normal person if they convince their-self that they're not a god. Does this mean that in order to reveal the Uber Breath and restore their Returned appearance, a Returned must convince themselves that they are a god or can a Returned who doesn't believe they are a god simply choose which state they are in? Also, if a Returned's Uber Breath is simply one Breath, so strong that it grants the Fifth Heightening, could a regular person possessing the Fifth Heightening use the same Breath hiding technique to hide all those Breaths and change their appearance? What about a descendant of a Returned who reaches the Fifth Heightening?
