Brandon Sanderson / I has a Steel Alphabet.

As part of my graphic design class, I had to create an alternate cover for a favorite book of mine. Naturally, I picked a Sanderson book - Mistborn. The focal point of the cover, I decided, would be the new 16-metal Steel Alphabet. I also plan to create covers for WoA and HoA with the Feruchemical and Hemalurgic tables.

The fruits of my labors thus far:



The symbols themselves are created with the vector tools of Adobe Illustrator, while the image effects and overlays are a combination of my own designs and Photoshop effects. The lettering is still in progress - hopefully I'll have a clean enough version of the full cover to post within a few days.

I'm not sure if I'll be keeping that dashed line pattern - it seems... off, looking at it now.

True, but the rule does have notable exceptions within BS's work. Khlennium, for example, was the name of a whole country, so it couldn't be that far-fetched for the name of a god to have the same suffix.

The WoT books are most definitely worth getting into. I'm nearly finished with Eye of the World, and it's been worth every tiny-font, text-crammed page thus far.

-Mistcloaks
-Feruchemical and Hemalurgic tables
-Nightblood/dueling cane/syre replicas
-Additional miniatures added to the range (a few ideas: TLR, a WoA terrain-piece, any of the crew members)

On a more humorous note:
-Do-it-yourself Hemalurgy kits!
-Actual beads of Larasium! (We know you have them. Share the love, man.)
-Full suits of gyorn armor!
-Pre-shredded and tasseled clothing - Awakening made easy!

It's worth bumping this thread to note that there's been some news regarding the Table posters.

Bah, I wish I had the money for one of the signed-art-print-edition posters. Just the thought of one of those on my wall has me giddy.

RULES:

1) Every post you make in this topic must either nominate a song to be the "theme" of a character or scene in the Mistborn Trilogy, or challenge a previous nomination.

2) There are no restrictions on music genre. If you think a certain hardstyle techno song really fits Yeden, then go for it.

3) Song nominations will be added to the Unoffical Soundtrack Songlist below. Only one song can occupy a subject at a time (i.e. there cannot be two "Theme of Vin" choices).

4) If you wish to challenge a nomination on the Songlist, provide a counter-nomination and get two members to "ratify" it. Thereafter, it will occupy its respective subject until it is challenged.

5) Song nominations made for subjects that are not yet on the Songlist do not require ratification.

I've added a handful of songs to the list already. Now have at it!
