No, Kalidin's character and story are the best ever IMO.

I like this quote for a shirt

"We're Bridge Four, we've been around. We've liven in the crem and been used as bait. If it helps you survive, it's good. That's all that needs to be said about it."

or even
"We're Bridge Four, we've been around."

It captures the specifics of the scene quite well actually. Thank you very much Ryos you just made my day. This is now the background for my labtop.

The one thing i would say is that the visions take place after periods of the knights radient doing stuff. And the almighty talks to dalinar about these things in the recording. Unless the almighty could see the future and record "into" the futre he was not dead during the times the recordings were made. Cool theory though...

i think grumpy is a dula but there is still no proof outside of phonetics that hints he is galladon. NOTHING... i will ask directly at the signing on tuesday but i would bet it  is another dula (fun fact: there is more than one pessimestic asian too)

okay i stand corrected. You have taught me a valuble and hilarious lesson concerning art. I had hoped in the vein of the drawing depicting the end of HoA but this is good too.

The thing is, i started WoT at the start of summer and i just began book 7. I  like the books and i do get engrossed but they do not grab me the way brandons books do. The biggest thing for me is that they are predictible and i have grown used to being suprised by fantasy <--this is all Brandons fault.

So as a person of no artistic talent i was hoping someone might create a couple scenes from WoK that i found cool. The first is the scene when Kaladin jumps the bridge as it is being pushed across the gap that leads to dalinar. The second scene is the one in which kaladin kills the shardbearer in the flashback.

Someone said that soulcasting was holy and war might violate the holiness of the reliegion. Just wanted to remind everyone that being a soldier is a high calling in vorrinism and war would not be considered unholy, quite the opposite in fact.

very true, wheel of time never goes by that fast.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: WoK: Shalan - near end of book **SPOILERS**
« on: September 08, 2010, 07:22:40 AM »
I thought I'd add one little tidbit I found. Unfortunately I don't have the book with me, and can't go look it up for reasons to complicated to go into here, but I found a quote that establishes with near-certainty that Shallan got the Shardblade from her father.

Basically, immediately before Shallan soulcasts for the first time, while being chased, she summons her Shardblade. The text itself says something along the lines of "She had a defense that was ten heartbeats away. No, not that! She had promised not to use it, the fruit of her most heinous act. But she began the summoning anyway." Then she goes into Shadesmar, and the scene becomes even more bizarre. Reading between the lines, it's about certain she got her Shardblade from her father after killing him.

I didn't get that impression when i read it but that's maybe a possibillity. It would be good to get page numbers and a second person backing it up.
