Any chance EUOL would be willing to sell digital copies of the Dragonsteel that currently exists?  Just a Word document, or a really long email?  I'd be willing to pay for it.  He's become my favorite (active) author, and even at the speed he writes, I still get impatient for more.  I'd LOVE to read Dragonsteel, but BYU is like 20 hours away...

OK, my computer is dead, so the only way I can get on the net is from work.  Until recently we had this blocking software, so I wasn't able to get on this site for a long time.  I apparently missed this preview of WoK.  Where is it?  Is it still up?  I would LOVE to read it!

OK, he's going to be here in Portland on the 13th.  Should I buy and read the book before he gets here, or buy it AT the signing?  I suppose he would rather have more sales right off the bat than at the signings, huh?

I don't see that it is possible to make a videogame using a Mistborn as the PC without making it an RPG.  There are just too many metals to burn to make it an action game.  The controls would become unwieldy and make the game into a bad one.

What's more, if I were in charge of this game being built, there are VERY few studios I would trust to build it.  BioWare could mail it in, and still come away with a win (look at Mass Effect 2 for proof), so I would trust them to do it as an RPG.  They are really the only studio that just immediately springs to mind.  I'd have to do some serious digging into studios to see who I would trust with a property like this.  The list would be very small.  I've seen too many promising games ruined by people that, while able to build a solid game, just didn't have the grasp of how to build a GOOD game.

Yeah, that wouldn't have worked.  The first thing I did was ask around for someone that spoke French so they could tell me how to PRONOUNCE it.  Then, I asked what it meant.  When they laughed and walked away without answering, I figured it wasn't something I wanted to say.

Too late.  I've been reading the series since Eye of the World was the current book.

And no, the timeframes don't bother me, it just frustrates me sometimes.  I was more curious to see if this was a problem only I have or if other people get lost in the timelines, as well.

Feruchemy.  All those things I read and can't remember?  Not anymore! 

Perhaps it's me.  Perhaps it's the way I read.  However, one big problem I have with books is lack of temporal references.  I get lost in the timeline of the books.  I'm going to use BS as an example, here.  Don't get me wrong, I love his books, I just get frustrated at this (and BS is FAR from the only author I have this problem with).

For instance:
Elantris - Is it just me, or does this book FEEL like it takes place over the course of a year or more?  It's mentioned a few times that it's in a 90 day time period (the timeframe given to Hrathen by Wyrn).  However, the flow of the book makes it feel like it takes much longer than this.

Mistborn: The Final Empire - This book feels like it takes place over just a couple of months (3, maybe 4), but it says it takes place over the course of an entire year.

Does anyone else have this problem, or is it truly just me?  If you do, please cite examples.
