So, what day does the "release week" start on?  Calendar week or would it start on Tuesday?  No clue how the publishing industry works.

I'll hold off buying it until I know it helps BS's sales numbers.

Because I lived there for 6 years.  :)

I'm only teasing.  Rochester is actually a pretty nice city.

Rochester NY?

Yah, no big surprise that they're always behind on the good stuff.

It's a viable comparison IMO because it shows that it doesn't have to be the original author, no matter who that is or the original source of how the material was presented, that others can and do author quality content.

Of course, thats just my humble opinion.

... not to mention the original idea is always the best

Some (I would say most) of the best Star Wars stories have been without George Lucas' involvement.  I'm not comparing RJ to Lucas by any means, but a blanket statement that no one else could right interesting, quality, stories in this world probably isn't true.

Sure, why not?  If you don't want to read anyone other than RJ writing the stories nobody is forcing you to buy the books.  For others, that love the setting, its a way to continue to be entertained.  Nothing wrong with that.

Most places discount books from cover price.   It's the shipping and handling fees that tend to add up.  These days, with the economy the way it is, and since I already have one signed BS novel, just seems more prudent to save where I can.

I mean, I'm already buying a copy of a "free" book.  Gotta save my cash somewhere.  :)

I don't think I'm going to spring for a signed book this time, although I fully intend to buy it the week of release to help with sales numbers.

When the final WoT book comes out I may get a signed one of those.  Or the new WoK series.

Sorry, didn't list all I've read.  Ever since Elantris I've read the MB trilogy (got a signed copy of HoA at release) and I've downloaded Warbreaker, although I haven't finished it.   I'm going to buy the full book when it does come out.

Just eager for "new" material.

I was hoping more along the lines of release dates maybe?

Please?

 ;)

When I heard that BS was going to finish the series I had never heard of him, so I bought Elantris.  Now I'm hooked.  While I'm interested to find out how WoT finishes (FINALLY!!) I'm more interested in seeing what he does with his own material.  I really like his writing.

I know this statement will make some of the WoT fans unhappy but I'd rather see the WoT stuff get pushed back than WoKs.  I know due to marketing etc it will never happen, but we can wish anyway right?

That and the fact that momentum was lost, means neither Sweets nor TOR are terribly motivated to reach for the best illustrations.  But come on that painting isn't as bad as some of the comments in this thread suggest.

Yes.  It is.

Never been that impressed with the cover artwork for this series so this just sort of fits in.
