Like it or not, Paolini has sold more books. So there are a large number of Paolini fans who will go to the panel...and get to hear Brandon and Patrick be awesome.

I'm just thanking the Forgotten Gods that Stephanie Meyer isn't included with her glampires.  If that signing were being held in my backyard, even with Brandon there, I would not attend.

I must say, even though I am a major fan of the series, that is made of more win than I can comprehend.

Brandon and Christopher Paolini on one panel?  *drool*

*drools all over Christopher Paolini's writing so that no one else has to suffer through it*

I'm doing this for your own good!

Yeah, I had wondered how was able to take both powers.  I hoped it wasn't something as mundane as "He reached for them at the same time so one couldn't reject the other," but honestly, that was how it looked to me.  Perhaps the Feruchemist answer is right, or maybe it was because he was the Hero of Ages, and as such was designed by Preservation to be able to hold both powers.

And yet that 'not much' has provided many of us fans endless hours of epic speculation.

That proves that our man Brandon is a genius.

What I want to know is how holding the power for that long will change Sazed.  If I remember correctly, the power of Ruin and Preservation had corrupted the minds of Ati and Leras toward the philosophy of their Shards.  With Sazed possessing two powers, will they balance, leaving him fundamentally the same, or will he also become an altered personality?

I'm the type that enjoys seeing the progression of ideas.  That said, I think seeing their final form first is what would make seeing the earlier versions work for me.

And all that merely serves to excite me more... *sigh*

So far, I have yet to see an idea that he has done this with and told us about that I didn't like.  I bet I'd enjoy it even more if I had read the source stories that he is cannibalizing.

Brandon has said that the sequel trilogy will most likely be set in a modern type setting and will involve a Mistborn serial killer, who is being hunted down by a SWAT-Team-esq group of Mistings.

Knowing Brandon, of course, in a twist it will be revealed that the Mistborn is killing bad people (my guess is that it will be people using Hemalurgy or something of the sort) and that there will be all kinds of plot twists within plot twists, haha.  Just my guess.

The worlds of Roshar and Dragonsteel are independent, but Brandon just stole a concept from one of his books because it worked better in this novel.

Classic Brandon cannibalism.

I call Survivor of the Mistborn/Twilight slashfic!

You must be more powerful than I am.  I would not survive that.

I thought I had heard from either a blog post or this forum somewhere that The Stormlight Archive is somewhere around the middle of the larger story Brandon has created.

And then...

And Adonalsium shatters near the beginning of the larger story.

I hate quoting myself, but it was necessary for context this time.  I think that dismisses the theory about this being the beginning of anything, short of a new series.

although there's a key difference: Demoux evolves into a religious leader and Spook becomes a quasi-religious figure.

I remember thinking that if people were gonna start making new survivors, (survivor of flames, etc.) then at some point it would start getting mundane as heck.

Survivor of Mugging

Survivor of Food Poisoning

Survivor of The Flu

etc. ad nauseum.

...is that going to be my catchphrase? I think it might...

Can I be the Survivor of a Fit of Laughter from those examples, or is that taken?

wait, I've forgotten, do we know for a fact that its always the same Hoid?

Maybe it was just a really popular baby name...30-60 years before every book Brandon writes...

I believe in a Dragonsteel discussion here on the board, we are led to believe that there are at least 2 Hoids.  Or some awesome time-breaking things going on.  I haven't actually read Dragonsteel, so I wouldn't know if that was just an odd assumption, or if that's what the situation is.
