Alright, I just want to get this out there in writing before the book comes out:

After reading the Prologue, I'm guessing we see someone or something Lashed in two opposite directions, pulling them/it apart. Szeth used multiple Lashings on the balcony, so we know it's possible to use multiple Lashings on the same thing.

I don't want to see any confirmation or denial from alpha readers, just had to post this.  ;D

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Deus-Ex Machina in Hero of Ages? *Spoilers*
« on: June 29, 2010, 05:27:17 AM »
See, that scene was so out of character, that it completely fit for me. I was not expecting it at all. When they presented her with her options, I was just waiting for her to find a loophole, or to make her own option C (and it's been a while since I've read the book, so I'm a little hazy). So when she just took his conditions, it was really surprising. But her reasoning made sense.

I suppose she could have tried to torture Telden, but she obviously didn't think it would work. *shrug* Didn't really seem wrong to me. If anything, I liked the scene and how it was all written. It strengthened the book IMO.

From the Way of Kings preview on Tor.com:

At the start of chapter 2, page 8 of 13, Kaladin's name is spelled "Kladin". I had the briefest twinge of confusion, wondering if this was a new person, or if Kaladin was using a different name.

There were a few others, usually where a word would be split in two, like "off ended". The "Kladin" was the one that stuck out to me the most though.

Omegas aren't masochists. I'm not going to refrain from reading publicly-released excerpts!

I assume you're aware of his two new releases coming out this fall? Way of Kings comes out on August 31st, and Towers of Midnight (which is the next book in the Wheel of Time series) comes out on October 27th. For his last few releases, he's had a release party at the BYU Bookstore on release day. You said you were living in Utah, so if you're looking to meet him that's a good chance right there.

I know he does have other appearances, but those are the two I'm pumped for and counting down. Maybe I'll see you there  :).

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Atium sticker

Yeah, I'm not so sure why this is so surprising to you. Those stickers have been in the store for a while.

They're very sweet though. I might pick up a few, when I'm a little richer.

EDIT: Upon reading my post again, it came out sounding a little meaner than I intended. I meant it in a more teasing way  ;).

I think this is hilarious.

If Peter doesn't complain, nobody should. Lol

Peter's just happy that it means more book sales for his employer.  ;)

Went really downhill also.  Not so far as the ever so Canadian TV series however. :P

Oh, see, I didn't think the series was so horrible. I mean, yes, it was horrible, no doubt about it, but that's what made it good. ;)

I was kind of sad to see it canceled, even if I didn't watch each new episode as it came out.

Wizard's First Rule was okay. It was shortly after that that the series really went downhill.

I, Gher, promise here after this wonderful Friday of May, to only read books that have been printed, annotations, and deleted scenes/preview chapters. I promise to not be a part of Brandon's pre-publish editing and therefore shall not bestow the name of Alpha upon myself.

Omega!

I thought they were the WoT bumper stickers. Has he started giving away other stuff?

Can someone snag pictures? Or is that allowed?

:( That's actually somewhat painful, to see a burning book. Any book really, but especially a Sanderson.

It better work for you, after going to this extreme.

And couldn't you have burned your printed copy? That I could stomach more easily.

I think I'm safe in assuming Provo is going to be on the tour? Probably the opening stop of the tour?  ;D

I think I have to agree with that. I've already read the prologue. ;)

How unfinished is it?

And are the preview chapters in finished form?
