I wonder if it will actually go through. I remember the Billy Zane movie and the really old cartoon, but would probably be interested in seeing a series if they go the route they're discussing.

From a talented juggler to a popular one.

This seems to be a common theme with me... but have I moved up in the world, or down?

An interesting question. Especially in a society such as this where, unfortunately, one doesn't necessarily have to have talent to be popular. Methinks the order of those two ranks should be reversed. One should become popular, then learn to cope with the demand of stardom by upping the talent pool.  ;)

Then again, if one is talented to begin with, it is a moot point.  :D

I caught the last ten minutes of it this last Sunday.  I was amazed at the beautiful cinematography in some of the scenes. A shame they're already talking about canceling it.  :(

I wouldn't mind them showing old shows from many years ago, at least for a little while. During this time they can be seriously thinking of how to proceed. I know I'd probably re-watch some old shows if they put them back on the air for a short while.

Thanks all.  8)

Are you using the patches or did you just…stop?

I used one patch, then got bored with them. They itched. Just going on pure willpower right now.

I heard about the name change the other day and I must say, it is quite useless. I mean, all the main points have already been addressed, but seriously, SyFy? Why do people insist on fiddling with and breaking things that don't need fixing? It's not hip, it's not cool, it's not updated for the "new" generation that so many old people think they can identify with. It's idiotic.

In regards to the future of the network, they will probably just keep airing all the old shows, while continuing to make more crappy C-Movies.  ;)

When you make hundreds of thousands a year you don't need a random $5 million dollar bonus.  That's absurd.

This is exactly 100% how I feel. It's lunacy to keep giving these useless [expletive deleted] more and more money.  >:(

Currently reading the "North and South" trilogy by John Jakes.  I don't usually read novels about war, but it's pretty good so far.  :)

Also known as Hamato Yoshi. In the cartoon at least he was also know as Hamato Yoshi but in the movie Splinter was Hamato Yoshi's pet rat. Enemy of Oroku Saki aslo know as Shredder. Was transformed by the same mutagen that transformed the turtles. Oh this brings back many a great memory. Backster Stockman, The Foot Clan, The Tetra Dome, The Neutrinos, Demension X, pizza, sewers, sweet human masks and so much more. That show was amazing.

You forget Krang, good sir!  :P

Anyway, here's a random quote to lend to the thread:

"Go for the eyes, Boo, GO FOR THE EYES! RAAAAAAAAAAAURGH!!!"

and the show descended into a Naruto or Dragonball-like power escalation thing (There's probably a term for it, but I don't know what it is because it's dumb.) which I am told never stopped.

In Naruto's defense, there were very few actual instances where there was  long-termed "power escalation" thing. and those few times it actually lent to the story.  The Lee opening of the Gates during the Chuunin Exam is one of the only few instances I can think of where it was almost as silly as DBZ.

Whereas in DBZ it took the dude 20 episodes to power up to  "uber power level blast attack mode" and after all that he misses so he has to spend another 10 episodes powering up another attack.  :P

Why is that? I mean, why is it even an issue? The comic had nudity, they kept that aspect of it. It's just genitalia, we all have it in one form or another, so why the big fuss over it?

It worked for the comic because it is a draw two dimensional cartoon character. There is a big difference to seeing a drawing of a naked person and seeing a real person naked. And again, I haven't seen the movie (I'm not big on cinema).

I'm not understanding the problem with it. Obviously a drawing isn't real, but neither is the CGI they used to make his blue genitalia.

i didn't actually feel it was a big deal. the character was entirely CG rendered, so I didn't feel any real difference between it and the comic. and once again, the context of his nakedness renders it virtually meaningless. in fact, i thought it looked much worse when he wore a speedo. I felt i got his character more completely when he was going commando.

It fits with his character very well. Right after the accident, he wore more clothes. Then, as he gradually began to disconnect with humanity, he got nakeder (is that even a word?) and nakeder.

What's Schlock??  ???

Little late, but I am quite familiar with this word, having been called it once at work long ago. Apparently it's origins are Yiddish and it means "cheap and/or trashy."

And now you know.  :D

On topic, I still wonder how Embattled I am. I mean, is this a fight to the death, the fight for ones self? Is this a metaphysical fight?

Statistically, higher ratings = lower sales.  The film would probably have done remarkably better had it been PG-13.

Yeah, but I believe the full impact of the story could not be accurately portrayed in a PG-13 capacity. The story would be diluted to the point of it being laughable. This is a rough, dark storyline, one that well deserves its R-Rating. I'm not too worried that its drop in sales is anything to be alarmed at. It's a movie for the fanboys, and this fanboy is happy.  :)

I'm currently reading "An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding" by David Hume. It's good stuff.  :)
