I'm with you Miyabi on the whole back-story aspect. Usually I like it, but this one seems off. Maybe it's because we saw something similar in a Jiraya flashback already. I'm still waiting for an explanation to what the Rinnegan actually DOES in full. We get snippets of info, but nothing concrete as of yet.  :(

Although I must say, I like this new, somber Naruto.  ;D

Did you see the sage mode/ fox eyes the plus sign pupil was weird...

That was pretty neat looking.

I'm predicting three or four more "talking chapters." Probably more if they're going to do a long, drawn-out back story reveal for Nagato/Konan/Yahiko.  ;D

Hopefully we can get at least a small bit of info about the rest of the villager's conditions.  :-\

One more cover song that I thought was really well done was Shinedown's cover of "Simple Man." The lead singer for Shinedown can really belt it out. Not to mention the fact that Shinedown is awesome in their own right. Good solid rock.

Let's see, other bands...

There's a cello-driven band called Rasputina that I dig. Don't know exactly what it is about them, but I heard their song "New Zero" and got hooked. Later I found out that the song is about the songwriter's crush on the abominable snowman.  :o

If you're into Electro Rock, there's a band called Ratatat that's pretty gnarly.

Ok, Kishimoto really needs to do SOMETHING in a chapter. I was pretty disappointed in chapter 443. Nothing really happened in it, which stinks because I was hoping for at least some plot progression. Even something small would have been fine.  ;D

I'm still calling Kakashi surviving.  8)

They only have one song, and it's a demo, but The Paul Revere Jumpsuit Apparatus

Any relation to the band The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus?

I recently got turned on to a band called Dispatch, which disbanded back in 2002. A few of the members joined a band called State Radio.

This is the song that got me hooked on them. (Caution NSFW language in comments section)

So this past Monday I had to make my way to the local district courthouse to serve jury duty. Let's just say it was a disaster.  >:(

The case was involving Eminent Domain (for those that don't know what that is, it is where the government can step in and take privately owned land for its own use), and I am quite against this practice for many ideological reasons. Not only that, but according to the judge, the trial would last five to seven business days (yuck). Now there was this whole process of weeding out jurors for various reasons and when it came time for me to protest my reasons, the judge didn't believe me! Apparently no one in my state can be against something  :P.

So I was sent back to the lady who did our "jury indoctrination" for "rescheduling" of my jury duty. I'm not sure how it is in other states, but MA has a policy where, regardless of whether or not you actually get seated for a jury, your obligation is fulfilled for three years.

Since the judge didn't believe me, I have to be ready for another summons in one years time, instead of three. Yeah, it's not too bad, but it still made me grumpy.  :(

I've ran a few CoC games before.

Mood is absolutely essential for CoC, even more so than a regular d&d gaming session. The few times I've run campaigns I dimmed the lights (not too dim, enough so people can see, but dark enough to be kinda eerie) and put on some mood music to play softly in the background (on my laptop). I also had a bunch of random "scary" sound effects that I had downloaded and I ninja-played them wicked loud to psyche people out.  :D

Well, chapter 442 is up. Was anyone else besides myself surprised to see Nagato having red hair? I had always assumed it was blackish.

Kind of a "meh" chapter to be honest. The rock/kage bunshin thing was one of the only cool things, other than confirmation of Hinata's survival.

 :(

"Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

Funniest of them all.  :D

It's quite possible that she will die. It would be a pretty big death. However, at this point, I think she still has more of role to play, especially in the rebuilding.

I'm still on the fence about Kakashi. The whole meeting with his dad had kind of a Deathly Hollow's feel to it for me. Then again, I just don't want him to be dead yet.  :D

I think Naruto will succeed in killing Nagato and possibly Konan as well. Either that or they will retreat after learning that Killer Bee escaped.

If they die, then that will only leave Madara, Kisame and Zetsu for the Akatsuki. Oh, and Sasuke (ugh) and his little band of followers will go back hunting Killer Bee.

Creation Rebirth is what Tsunade's forehead-storing healing chakra thingy is called, at least in the manga. I think they called it something else in the anime. Tsunade used it, in conjunction with Katsuyu's slugs to protect as many people as she could from Pain's uber blast of death.

But yes, as it stands, we know that Shizune is confirmed dead; Hinata's almost there; Kakashi is probably dead, but still kind of up in the air.

I was glad to see Naruto's reaction when the 4th appeared in his mind and told him he was his son. I was expecting some cheesy "I love you dad!" moment. Was glad to see a more logical angry reaction.  :D

I will say that the latest Shippuden Manga arc is insane. I seriously think they're probably going to do another time-jump soon, especially when this arc is finished. It just seems like the perfect time.

I really just don't like shows that exist for the fighting. Which is kinda most shōnen. At least as far as I've seen.

I like manga that can successfully balance fighting with actual storyline, all the while juggling comedy with emotion. That's why I passionately defend Naruto, I believe it does an outstanding job at portraying these situations. Yes, there is fighting, but it really is a show about growing up, maturing and finding acceptance.  :)
I felt the same way.  I heard the Anime kinda killed that though. >>'  I never watched it.  Is it true?

Well the anime has the same killer that all other really great shows unfortunately have: Filler episodes. There is just way too many filler episodes to watch them all. I've only watched the storyline episodes, but they've been fairly close to their manga origins.
