Brandon Sanderson / Re: Scholastic tightening up with Alcatraz 3 release?

I ordered a copy from my local bookstore and haven't received it yet. This is the same bookstore that got me Warbreaker a week early, so I would guess option a.

I drank Dr Pepper for nausea in all of my pregnancies. I can't stand Coke and it works for me. I just have to be careful to keep from getting addicted. That headache when you can't take any real drugs is a killer.
And I know it is not the most nutritious thing, but sometimes you'll take whatever calories will stay down.

I shouldn't eat and look at TWG, I nearly ruined a perfectly good keyboard. Thanks for the laugh.

One of my best friends from high school's husband died over the weekend. I've never gone to a funeral for someone my own age before.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: The Gathering Storm Chapter One

After having a couple of days to think about it, the chapter seems more interesting than when I first read it. Of course like all the Wheel of TIme a second reading helps. It is nice to know that the layers of complexity are still going to be there.

It was too short.
Brandon's voice will take a little time to get used to. It was still the Wheel of Time, but it was definitely not RJ. I couldn't put my finger on what felt different, it just did.
I already have plans to do nothing but read the end of October, my family has been warned.

Movies and TV / Re: 2009-2010 TV Shows

I am curious as to how many people don't have cable and get their TV from the internet. We live in a place that gets no broadcast signal, (or didn't at least) so everyone has cable/satellite and look at us oddly when we say we don't have them.
Comments/opinions?

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Alcatraz and the Scrivener's Bones audio book

I saw Alcatraz on book order once or twice around the time the second one came out, but nothing since. THey didn't push it as much as some others. I would assume the same thing will happen this year, it will appear for a month or two when the next book comes out.

The Deed of Paksennarrion is good, but there is a long and involved torture scene towards the end that made me mad I read all the other 600 pages just to get to that.
I love Dianna Wynne Jones. Officially most is YA but I know many adults who enjoy it.
Shannon Hale is good and she writes in a variety of genres.

Evidentally it only gets worse. I read the jacket covers of the next ones and when I found out that he kills some imporatn people I reconsidered reading the rest.

Just finished GoT and Sansa is redeemed a little bit, but I agree she is the most annoying character in the book. I seem to be reading the series in competition with someone else at my library. And they read much slower than I do.

They have recently put out Dragonlance books for the middle grade age, 8-13, and my 10 yr old loves them. I don't care much for the adult versions, but these have gotten him away from Captain Underpants so I am happy they are available.

I have started reading the Alera Codex books by Jim Butcher. I have had to fight my husband for the books so I've only read the first one, but I like them so far.

I have been sick for the past two weeks, might be pregnant, might not, the Dr said, well, just wait another week, we should be able to tell by then.
I know that until the last twenty years or so that is always how it went, but I want the official answer.  This limbo state is driving me nuts.
