Brandon Sanderson / Re: WoT Read-Through by Brandon
« on: February 26, 2008, 05:47:01 PM »
Listening to them sounds like a great way to do it.  I am a very fast reader and I find when I read aloud or listen to a book I often find tiny things, (puns and whatnot) that I missed in my first read through.  I usually compensate by reading things I enjoy many times, but I haven't done that with the later WOT books.

So has anyone else read ALL of the WOT through like Brandon is doing?  I tried with each new one but quit at about volume 8 or 9.  I'll probably try when the last book is about to come out, but it almost feels like a chore to be done before I can go out and play. :-\

I just started Rules of Acension, seems all right so far.  In the Winston Churchill stuff I'm almost to the German invasion of Russia.  And my neighbor just brought over a box of fluff, James Patterson, Dean Koontz and other silly mysteries and thrillers.  So I'm in for a spree of mind candy.

Hello, I'm new to actually posting, but everyone's got to start sometime.  I liked Sara Douglas's stuff, but the second set of books was a bit weaker than the first couple.
I've been working on the history of WWII by Winston Churchill, its six volumes so I read other stuff inbetween to lighten the death and destruction.
Anyone have opinions on David B. Coe, Rules of Ascension? That's next.

Hello, I'm Kathy and though a devoted lurker, I figured I would come out of hiding in case I ever have something I need to say.  I am  compulsive reader, mostly science fiction and fantasy, with history, science, and anything else that looks interesting added to the mix.  I have been keeping track of the books I've read since Sept. for my own curiosity and I'm now at about 60.  So I love new book referals.
I am also the mother of 5 children, ages 9-1, so using complete sentences not related to bodily funtions or homework is a challenge for me sometimes.  I live in Moab,UT, work only at home for no pay and have a BA from BYU in English, with minors in both math and physics.  I figure I have a general knowledge of a lot of things, but specific knowlege in only a few, but I do know how to use both a search engine and a card catalog, so that's all right.
