so, I did read the book as it was being released online. I now own two copies, one personalized and signed and the other that I have only seen for maybe a day or two since I've been lending it to all of my friends to read. I now have several friends hooked on his books. One is now reading the mistborn series and the other will get Elantris tomorrow if I remember to bring it to work.

I think this was a great idea! Even though he didn't like any of my suggestions I still feel like I was part of the writing process. I used to refresh the page every wednesday night until he posted the next chapter so I could read it as soon as he posted it. Now my screen name is in the book and I've told everyone I've talked to about books to read it.

People could already get it for free from the library so if you were going to buy it you would buy it anyway even if you could get it online.

First things first. I wouldn't buy this book with any of these covers. It looks too romantic-y like several people have said.

Did we decide who was on the cover? This is way to uncovered for Viv but Siri never had a sword or any more breath than her own. But Siri did live in the black palace thing. She never wore the dress there except to enter the room. I just don't feel like the cover fits the story at all. I think I should at least be able to tell who the person is supposed to be.

Otherwise it's pretty!

Sad day... you don't like her face? I was just thinking it looks like me. I could play vin! I might need to learn to act first...

Either way I like it, but not nearly as much as the Elantris one. The cover was the reason I read that book and how I got to know about MB and Warbreaker

I just wrote an email about this... if you come to Chicago, you've got to go the the mall of america in the twin cities... it's only 5 or 6 hours from chicago... I think... although I've never been to Chicago. Then you could do a midwest tour and I would contact someone from the Cities library districts and get some publicity! I would be great.

(I keep bothering you about this since I don't live where you can sign my books still)

I don't know about prizes. I would think it would be cool to get autographed copies... but since you will be there I would expect you would already be signing copies of the book.

I just moved to Minnesota and won't be able to get there... although I don't know that I would have been able to get there from Colorado even if I hadn't moved... I was wondering if I could somehow reserve a numbered copy and have it shipped here. I would of course pay for the shipping and extra for an autograph and extra for the numbered copy...

I have my other two books signed since you came to cherry creek mall in Denver... but unless you make a trip to the mall of america anytime soon... I won't be able to get MB2 signed. Any suggestions to this?

the library edition thing just means the library pays more for it initially. Then they can get replacements for free in the first year and then only have to pay about $7 for replacements later. i asked the woman who orders them for the library I work at and she said she liked the idea of having to make the librarians seem more stylish and punish people who reshelve the books.  I think most people in the library world would...

Maybe they wanted to set up Sus's death scene like they were doing with Siri. If that is the case it should probably be stated. Maybe in the part where Bluefingers is telling Siri about her death scene...

I LOVED this chapter!

So, nightblood feeds on your breath until you don't have anymore then kills you?

I'm not sure what happened to the cloak here. Didn't she say "Your Breath to mine," which would take the breath out of the cloak then it wouldn't be able to do anything. but then she gave it a command. I think this is backwords.

I'm curious what happened to Vivena after vasher fell... wasn't she left in that room too. Did tonk take her somewhere? Should that have been explained here, or will that come up later? It just seemed like she disappeared...

I'll be in St. Paul, MN next August. Do you think there will be a book tour stop any where around there? I'm sure there are some good book stores in the Mall of America right? maybe? please? I made it to the Denver one and acted like an idiot, if you remember... and got my mistborn and elantris signed... but MN is pretty far away from Provo...

no motivation except for the northern passages and general fear. They are being mislead of course with the fear thing. It seems like people have gotten worked up over nothing and they think war is the only way. I'm pretty sure we will find some more reasons as the book ends, but I think the motivation for most of them are lies and things blown out of proportion.

I actually really liked the lap lap lap thing. Like he was a crazy old fisherman guy who has no morals just wants to eat and not do what people tell him or something...
I really liked his dance dance dance thing too. It was really random and funny to think about. It brought me back to corpse bride.

I wasn't ready for that chapter to be over!!! I can't wait until next week!!!!

Denth went to torture Vasher and Tonk wanted denth to help him interrogate Blushweaver. Did he really "kill" (he said dispose of...) nightblood though?! That's sad.

I think if I heard her screaming I would assume she was in immediate danger so she would need me right then
(although I would have just gotten stabbed too...) I think they had walked a while... at least a few minutes so the lifeless would be a few minutes away... and he does think he's invincible, Or he can die but it would be his own choice? He also had a lot of skills that he didn't know about it and thought sword fighting might be one of them. I think what he did didn't seem like such a wierd thing. They are friends and he "is lightsong the bold."

I think Denth had quite a bit of breath and he was going to teach Viv how to awaken (although he probably wouldn't have taught her much)... he could awaken but I he wasn't as good as Vasher.

I thought the same thing about nightblood. The guys at the door were fighting with him... those guys are good fighters so they would have been able to get nightblood from them. I suppose they knew the influence nightblood has over people's emotions and were able to get him from the guards without going on a killing spree.

With the mind control stuff...

I don't think Vasher has any mind control powers. He is always talking about intention. I think it's the same thing here. He is so used to doing everything with extra intention because that's the best way to control things you are animating. He probably does this automatically now and so well that the child and dogs can sense that. There was never anything in the rest of the book about being able to influence someone else's thoughts or feelings with biochroma and it would be wierd to introduce that now. It doesn't seem in the nature of the magic.
