Brandon Sanderson / Re: Mistborn: The Soundtrack (Forum Game)

I think the Lady in the Water song is great, just not for that scene. I like the other one, it just seems better because its so hardcore, maybe? I don't know. I think it's great for WOA when ruin is realized, absolutely!

Brandon Sanderson / Can I interview somebody?
« on: October 13, 2009, 09:37:20 AM »
I need to do an assignment for my business core class. If a writer or an editor or something would respond to these questions, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Full name of Employee:
Name of Company:
Job Title:
Salary:
Location/Address:
What benefits does you company offer?
Does your company provide incentives? If yes, what are they?
How are promotions determined?
What special skills are required for your job?
What are the education requirements for your job?
What do you like most about your job?
What don't you like most about your job?

THANKS!

Well, that was before I actually did anyresearch, and I'm still kind of in the dark about everything. What kind of editor are you?

I have this project for my career and life planning class where I have to interview someone in the career I want to be in, you know, when I grow up.

I really hate that phrase.

Anywho, I don't have the questions yet, but we can easily conduct the interview over PM as soon as I get them.

But you know, someone who can actually do their job, and give me information.

When Vin fools the atium is definitely a really great part.

And when Vin goes into Kredik Shaw and finds the inquisitors and the Lord Ruler.

The most squicky part was when her earing gets ripped out of her ear. Made me squick, definitely.

I didn't like crazy guy in WOA right from the beginning. *Spoiler*

And when he dies, and the voice says you're not crazy.

Can't wait to figure that out.

The library is never open when I go! It's always closed, all the time.

I even call ahead to ask if they'll be open.

Go there, not open.

NOT OPEN.

Oh, I hate fanfiction.

The authors butcher the stories and characters so much. It sickens me.

Blegh.

I had this person who I knew who did nothing but write fanfiction about gay anime characters.

She had a bunch of comp books filled with the stupid stories and they were horrible.

And she did nothing but go on and on about how great she was and how she was going to be a great author!

She didn't have enough creativity to even branch out from the personalities and storylines of the animes she was copying, just changing the names of everything/one

Not to mention that I also hate any type of anime or manga.

Don't even get me started on the fact that the manga section is right next to the sci-fi/fantasy section at ANY bookstore you go to.

Books / Re: What are you reading, part 3

I read the first of Codex Alera just a few days ago.

It's an okay book.

Right now I'm reading the Beatles by Bob Spitz. It's ENORMOUS

Brandon Sanderson / Re: How did you find out about Brandon Sanderson?

I found his book at the library and became obsessed, visiting his website at the back of the book.

Elantris, by the way. Before mistborn ever even came out.

Yes, Spook.

I would know his name, if I had the book.

Well, it was like a sign for above, for this book.

I had lost mine, recently. Usually it happens during major project week or finals week, or just major stress week for me. I leave things everywhere. Pens, pencils, textbooks, binders, Mistborn.

I was really sad.

And I've been waiting to buy another one, holding off, really.

I dunno what I want you to sign on mine. I'll email you, I think. Mine is a very stupid email. [email protected]. So expect one.

Probably something that the kid who speaks funny says.

Damn, forgot his name.

The tin guy?

I just realized that I'm mentioned, for all the scant help I gave! Gee, Brandon. You just made my day. Even though I'm sick.

Wow. Thank's for the clarification.

I like that the 500 kingdoms are airy. I like an airy book every once and a while. I especially like one good knight because it's funny, and I like little funny airy books as well as books like brandon's (which I adore probably more than any other author). I like epic fantasies and intense action books. The outstretched shadow books were okay, I'd have to say - but they had a lot of non-interesting fillers which made me skim to get to a part where they were actually doing something other than playing chess

I wouldn't recomend reading a 500 kingdoms book to a young girl, though. Well, maybe. Just skip some parts that have to do a lot with virgins becoming non-virgins for some reason...
