I hope that Vin ends up winning, though I haven't read the Malazan books.

do you think that this might be the first clue hinting at the relationships between shard magics and cosmere

I wonder if the power of the mists (which was prezervations power) is a kind of form of stormlight, then turned into stormlight when condensed into vin

has anyone else noticed that shardblades are always described as having condensed out of mist

i'm not sure if anyone saw this or not, some one probably did, but that moment when Vin takes in the mists it seems suspiciously like Stormlight

huh, that's an interesting thought - Kaladin with a shardspear - wonder how Syl would react, though it might be a different case if it was one of the heralds

Brandon Sanderson / the way of kings as a movie
« on: March 14, 2011, 05:49:24 PM »
i know it would be really hard to pull off twok as a movie since so much of it is in the characters heads and thoughts. not to mention how long it is and how much work it would take to get all the scenery right, plot elements and the right actors for each character, but just imagine how cool Roshar would would on the big sreen AND the action, oh boy i can can just picture the prologue. Sseth son son Valanno truthless of Shinover in his whit assasins clothing lashing everthing doing insane stunts fighting a sharbearer. and dont forget when Kaladin leaps over the chasm and say the oath. the fight with the chasmfiend, and Kaladin taking down the sharbearer in the border skirmish.

"beside the king's body, his shardblade materialized from mist, clattering to the stones now that its master was dead.

"if he were still alive, his blade would have vanished." pg #675

"he slumped forward, hitting the rocky ground, shardblade clattering down behind him. it did not vanish. the guards inched forward. one prodded the man with the butt of his spear. the man who had named himself a herald did not move.

I'm kinda confused on whether Talenel is dead or not, because when i read the book he seemed like he was dead but posts in here seem to say otherwise.

DragonLance is good, though i wonder how long it would take to read all of them or if its even possible.
Dragoncharm is AWSOME i strongly suggest it.
and if for some reason you haven't read the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, or the Silmarilion those too of course.
