Brandon Sanderson / Re: How did you find out about Brandon Sanderson?
« on: March 26, 2011, 05:09:05 PM »
I found out he was finishing WoT... Then went to his site, saw he had a book up to read for free (Warbreaker), read it, then bought/read everything else he's published. Except Alcatraz. Going to get around to those at some point.
Oh, and Areus... I agree, The Way of Kings was an amazing read.

To be honest though... Although I much prefer anything from Sanderson vs Goodkin, I did enjoy SoT, and although Mistborn was much better... I don't think Vin could have actually beat Zedd. But... it's a fan based competition, so... go Vin! :)

Books / Re: Wise Man's Fear--Your Take?

I thought the book was pretty amazing. Although, I really hadn't caught on to the thing about Kvothe's mother. Makes me wonder how much else I missed going through it the first time. Oh well, guess I'll just have to read over it again.
Possible spoiler here, you've been warned:
Although, I'm curious: What are peoples opinions about Cinder being where he was in the book? I didn't think the Chandrian mingled with humans. But then, we have so little information on them.

Well you can forgive someone without necessarily having to trust them again. There are people in my past that really hurt me; I don't nurse a grudge against them, but I wouldn't trust them not to do the same thing again without some kind of proof. A large part of the point of Dalinar's viewpoints is that you can be honorable without being stupid.

That's very true.  Besides, Sadeas' crimes don't deserve death....just lots and lots of pain.  Hearing him scream and plead for mercy would be entertaining and satisfying, death would not. ;D

So... you want him to become of the new heralds and scream in agony for a few millennium between each desolation?
but yeah, I agree. Sadeas will most likely end up redeeming himself in some way.
