So...even though Atium is "legendary" by the time of Alloy of Law, does anyone have any indication of what feruchemical properties it would have?  If it was the ability to "see the future", what would be the opposite to store it?  Would it be "wandering around clueless" for a while, or temporary loss of memory?  Sort of like the opposite of storing a history?

Yeah, I've been following his tweets and I'm amazed that he accomplishes as much as he does in a day.  I know if I tried to do this it would take me at least twice as long as Brandon and it wouldn't be half as meticulous.  The man is amazing!

Didn't you know?  Brandon's the one who holds the 16th shard, Creativity.

Somehow, we wouldn't really be surprised.

He's actually on an Atium burn...

[Strange side thought...could you imagine the squirrel from "Hoodwinked" on both coffee AND atium?  What a trip!...okay, you can go back to what you were doing.]

Someone needs to add the unpublished books in there, too.

Publish? No. But it will probably go in the deleted scenes section for Warbreaker. It's a Cosmere book. Aspects of it were later used in Warbreaker, Mistborn, and even Way of Kings. There are only 22 chapters.

LOL...there are only 22 chapters?  Any other author and that would be a BOOK.   ::) :P

Brandon Sanderson / Heaven Forbid...but just in case?
« on: October 08, 2010, 02:58:57 PM »
So...since Brandon has created this entire cosmere and gotten everyone so interested in it (as evidenced here), the big question is, should anything ever happen to Brandon (Heaven Forbid), has he laid out his notes in a way that someone else could come along and pick up his work like Brandon did for Robert Jordan to finish the WoK?  (and others)?

Somebody get that man a bodyguard!  Food tasters!  Home Security!  On-Star!  Padded walls!  (okay, maybe WE need the padded walls) ;)

Umm....Brandon...I'd be willing to hold a copy of all of your files as a backup.  In case of fire, flood, blizzard or electronic disaster...just in case, you know?   ;D

Sooo Omnibuddy....if Brandon (for ANY reason) wasn't able to finish his series...who would YOU like to see finish it for him?

Yep...even Brandon's "doodles" are artwork compared to most authors...I'll take his practice works as well as the ones that he publishes.  :)

Since it's his secret project, it doesn't sound like he's that worried about it getting published...it's something that he wants to do because he wants to do it.  Kind of like the books that he wrote back when he worked at the hotel.  I've got a few projects like that that I want to do that will probably have to wait until I retire...*sigh*

Don't forget that they can soulcast food from air/stone/etc.  Why not grain/hay for the horses in similar manner (but they'd be expensive and reserved for noblemen/lighteyes).

I pictured something more like a stone leopard or Sphinx-like creature....full of power and tough to destroy.

Wow...Pizza?  A magic system based on pizza?  Seems like college campuses would have the monopoly on power in that case.  Would frozen pizzas work as well?  How about deep dish...more power?  What about Bagel Bites?

LOL...okay, I know... ::)  But it's a fun idea.... ;D

I admit to being just a little irritated at Mr. Sanderson for posting on Facebook every half hour. :(

Aww...give him a break!   :P If he's ADD like me, then he's doing five different things at once.  Considering his schedule, I'm amazed at what he can accomplish.  Plus, don't forget that he does most of his writing after the sun's gone down.  Our afternoons are like his mornings...so, if you're getting coffee, checking your e-mails, eating your breakfast, etc. right after you get up, then afternoon/evening is when he'd be doing the same thing.

As Stephen R. Covey says, you need to sharpen the saw every once in a while...if you spend all your time cutting, then you lose the efficiency of having a sharp blade.  (Brandon keeps a SHARP blade--and cuts FAST!)  :)

Peter, what's Brandon's percentage marking based on?  Number of pages done?  Is there a certain landmark that gets him to the next percentage?  First draft finished is 50%?  Final draft is 85%?  Publishing ready is 100%?  Or is it each phase gets its own zero to 100 percentage?  Just curious as to how the "Mind of Sanderson" works.  :)

You'd think that once he was well established (which he is) and it's the FIFTH book of the series (that's making them money) that they wouldn't bite the hand that feeds them.  *sigh*  Bureaucracy....
