Brandon Sanderson / Re: Brandon answering questions at Barnes&Nobles.com

He hurried to Luthadel, and was in the town, skulking about in the last parts of the novel.  He isn’t seen here, though he does still infiltrate the Well.  (Hoid is quite proficient at manipulating Shadesmar for his own ends.)

What is this Shadesmar that he mentions with? Hoid's shards name?

@Nightfire107

Those books like Liar of Partinel and Dragonsteel are unpublished works from Brandon. You can read the first few chapters of Liar online if you google it, as for Dragonsteel that was Brandon's graduate work and can get at by interlibary loan.

@Feifner Well, ‘Hoid’ the name is an alias that a certain person is using, and he stole it from someone else.

I guess that could mean that the Hoid we see die in Liar of Partinel isn't the Hoid in the rest of the books. Maybe its Midius that now uses it in memory of his master.

 4. Brandon Sanderson
 3. Robert Heinlein
 2. Robert Jordan (Best fantasy author I've read)
 1. Peter F. Hamilton (His style of writing reminds me a lot of RJ, but for Scifi)

I got to read about Birgitte explaining the gholem to him. That they were specifically made to fight channelers. There are six in total. 3 male and 3 female and the Power is useless against them. I think they are so cool! Why wait this long to put them in the series?!? I can't wait to see them in a full on battle.

He didn't wait, it was the/a gholem that killed Harid Fel.

As for Nynaeve and Elayne, I agree with Shard that Nynaeve's attitude has gotten much better while Elayne seems to be getting worse (even before she got knocked up). The middle of the series when both of them were stuck together, those sections were a difficult read  >:(

Brandon Sanderson / Re: **SPOILERS! The Shards of Adonalsium

Unless future books dealing with Shards include space travel, this probably matters very little.  I mean he could invent a magic which allows for dimmensional travel, or not.  But I've never heard of a magic system which allows for travel across worlds.  So this really only matters when pondering how sci-fi he wants to get in the future.

There has been a magic system that allows for travel between worlds, the Planeswalkers in Magic: The Gathering, which Brandon is familiar with (as he has played the card game).
