I respond, "Sure, but if you want to write them you will certainly want to know how they work." Writing is all about execution, and I find applying some basic laws of physics to magic systems make them more understandable and realistic. Here, I'm going to outline my basic method for developing a magic system.

Brandon Sanderson / MB2 release party?

Ok, so maybe it's still a bit early to think about, but I was wondering if there were any plans for the release party for MB2 yet. MB1 was in Provo and I was hoping that MB2 would follow suit. I've somehow managed to convince my husband to let me fly out for it if it is.

Besides, there's a small anime con in SLC at the end of August one of my friends wants me to come out for and I have family in the area - although that may all be just a happy coincidence...
