Did I read your webpage right?  You're writing Dragonsteel!?  Yay!  Is this the Dragonsteel we know, or is it a completely different one?

The "Last Post" date next to Books says the last post was dated Aug. 2, 2005, by the gArinch.  But when I clicked inside, it was really yesterday.

Edit: Nevermind, it's gone now.  Guess it just wanted someone else to post.

Movies and TV / Disney Info
« on: January 18, 2006, 09:55:35 AM »
I was just reading the paper this morning and came across a random bit of information.
"101 Dalmations and Peter Pan (Wendy) are the only two Disney cartoon movies where both parents are present and don't die during the movie."
That's rather disturbing. :-/  I'm trying to prove this wrong but nothing comes to mind.

Movies and TV / **Spoilers** Corpse Bride
« on: September 24, 2005, 12:47:25 PM »
Just saw that yesterday and loved it!  The characters are a LOT like the Nightmare Before Christmas type characters, but that's to be expected.  It was nice to have Burton, Elfman, and Depp all in one movie.  There's something about those three working together that makes a really cool (and wierd) movie.

****SPOILERS****

You were warned.

I was a little concerned about how they could end it, though.  Depp's character seemed compatable with either of the girls, and for a while I thought the Corpse was better suited for him.  I would have liked to see him marry the corpse (can't remember her name) but I guess it's happier all around that he didn't.  My question, what happened to her when she turned into butterflies?  If everyone down there is already dead, where do the dead go when they're "set free"?

Rants and Stuff / Yay to the employed!
« on: August 24, 2005, 09:23:35 AM »
I wasn't sure if this went in Happy Things, but I'm too excited for it.  I am now one of the employed!  I got a job yesterday morning at an elementary school teaching 2nd grade!!!  School starts today, and everyone at the school has been really helpful and understanding.  I have enough supplies to get me through today.  Wonder what I'm doing tomorrow. . .

Anyway, Yay!!

Rants and Stuff / Stupid computer
« on: June 07, 2005, 12:24:23 AM »
My computer was making a lot of noise, more than normal - enough so that I couldn't leave it on at night while I slept.  So I'm thinking, I'll just get a new case with a better fan and stuff (not that I know that much about computers).  The new case is wonderful, and it's whole selling point is how quite it makes your computer.  So I move everything over - amazingly everything goes smoothly and no problems.
However . .. it wasn't my case making all that noise.  I just found out it was the little fan on my motherboard!  >:(  So this either means I try and buy a new fan somewhere (for my 5 year old motherboard) or I get a new motherboard (and all the accesories required when you get a new motherboard).  Grrrrr....

(Option C: leave it alone and turn it off every night.  I'd rather not because the noise is seriously worrying me.)

Video Games / Get up and go games
« on: March 12, 2005, 12:30:24 AM »
Well, with all the success of DDR and other such games, it was bound to happen.

Your very own personal trainer!  Check it out:  http://www.yourselffitness.com/default.aspx

I'm currently trying it out and I like it.  It changes with my abilities pretty well, and is actually getting me to exercise (which is a pretty big deal).  It also plays like a very simple game, where I have to "unlock levels" by continuing the program I set for myself.  Except now I'm really sore cause I worked on my upper body today.  It hurts to type.

Rants and Stuff / Kindergarten
« on: September 13, 2004, 06:52:45 PM »
Huzzah I'm a teacher.

Well, not officially.  But two weeks of teaching kindergarten kids (at the beginning of the year, no less) will make it seem like it's been a full year.  The teacher I'm subbing for came down with pnuemonia and will be in intensive care for the next few days, then will need a couple of weeks to "recover".  So there's a huge chance I'll be here for the two weeks and possibly longer!

Today was a short day for most kids, so I come to school thinking "Cool, short day, no P.M. class.  I'll be home in time for lunch!"  Not so.  Apparently, when this school has a "short day" the AM Kindergarten stays the WHOLE TIME!          blah.  Needless to say it was hectic cause the kids were there longer than usual and started to get antsy by the end.

Everything Else / HELP FIND TAGE!!
« on: August 29, 2004, 06:00:56 PM »
I'm not sure I'm even doing this correctly.  I'm guessing.  This is Tage's mom and he left his cell phone at Knott's Berry Farm and we need to get in touch with him.  Does anyone know how to call Christie in Boston?  Or I need his address in Orem and they will just send it there.  I'm asking myself, why as his mom, don't I know his address? (bad mothering skills)  But then, I'm not sure if he even wants his address advertised online, so you may call us at home in Idaho if possible.  Thanks.  I hope this works.  (and thanks to all of you for entertaining me with your chats-it's fun reading)

Rants and Stuff / Wisdom Teeth
« on: July 09, 2004, 03:44:43 PM »
Just got my wisdom teeth out yesterday.  I had the whole IV thing, so I don't remember much about it.  They only took out two on the top (which everyone tells me are the least likely to hurt).  Yesterday afternoon I could walk around a bit, and today I feel fine, though a little tired at times.  My cheeks haven't puffed up at all, I'm still waiting to see if they might later on.  Mostly, I'm starving.  There's very little to eat that isn't "hard."

What was everyone else's experience with having their wisdom teeth pulled?  My two older brothers were very different.  Ben had pizza (sort of) the same day his were pulled, and Rob was nearly comotose for about two days.  Lucky, I guess I'm more like Ben than Rob.

Music / Simon and Garfunkel
« on: June 30, 2004, 08:14:14 PM »
Just came back from their concert in Salt Lake City.  Very fun and way awesome to get to see them live.  It was weird, though.  The average age of the audience was probably 50, but there were enough younger people there to make it a fun concert.  Especially the encores.

My dad said their famous for how much they fight, but during the entire concert, they mentioned how they're tired of fighting and are the best of friends now.

One funny line was when Paul Simon got up and said, "I'd like to play an oldie now . . . Oh wait.  All our songs are old."  A very fun concert, even with the older generation there.   ;D
