Even books 10-11 were decent.

I think you mean 11 is decent. 10 is considered the worst in the series so much that's it's more fact than opinion.

Also 5 is my favorite in the series, and 6 is my third favorite. 6 probably has more important plot developments than any book in the series, except maybe the last couple.

I like some of the bridgemen, like Rock and Lopen. Axies was my favorite of the interlude people.

Also did anyone notice the design of the two greatshells/chasmfiends/whatever within the glyphs inside the front cover?

Oh and one more question: are there any theories on who the faces are at the beginning of the chapters, and why they appear at which chapter? I assume they're the Heralds + Hoid, since the masked face always shows up when Hoid is there. I also noticed that the faces in Chapter 2 changed from the ARC to the final version.

The only one on that list I really hated was Roshone. The other villains (besides Szeth if he even is one) at least thought they were doing the right thing for the greater good. Roshone was just a bastard.

6
I kept waiting for a discussion of Navani's sketchbook pictures to come into the story, but it never did unless I missed it. Does anyone know what those two pictures were supposed to be?

Also the final picture of the Herald. Was that picture mentioned in the book?

I'm only slightly farther than you and I've thought the same things for #1 and #3.

It would probably be a good idea to post page numbers at the beginning of your posts for those who are also in the process of reading.

Oh, I thought Ruin and Preservation actually WERE shards. Shardbearer is confusing to me since that's what they call those who wield Shardblades.

In the book, 6. That ought to be enough to let you know which ones are mine. :D

I also did a bit of concept work for Brandon that doesn't appear in the book. Some of that might be seen at the Dragon*Con panel.

Well there are 6 Shallan's Sketchbook pictures, and those are honestly my favorite ones in the ARC. Haven't seen the Greg Call ones yet though.

The new chapters are really nice, love the new characters and I'm curious now, can you repair shardplate?

The topic of damaged shardplate is discussed in the book.

Oh so this is coming out! I just remember reading once that Brandon said it turned out badly. I guess he meant it wasn't up to his standards yet, as opposed to "this story totally sucks."

I think Dalinar has the best chapters in the book, because they feel the most important to the bigger picture.

13
And Sarene is the main character of Elantris, also without magical abilities.

I haven't listened to these chapters yet but I remember people mentioning "bridge crews" months ago. What the hell could be so interesting about a bridge crew?

That was a rhetorical question of course, I'll have to find out for myself ;)

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Lost Season 6 = Well of Ascension

That said, if the rest of Lost goes something like: Jack becomes Jacob's replacement, fights with SmokeMan/ Man-in-Black, they kill each other in the final battle and Hurley ultimately becomes the total overseer of the island, I will have to say there is more than a passing similarity (btw, I think the odds of this happening are about 0.001%)
Of course, that is the odds I would give any prediction on the end to Lost that does not have any insider information...

Whoa...

Anyway I never understood why so many people bash the show because they "make it up as they go along." Who cares if there are no real inconsistencies (I guess that's debatable with the last season though)? I think Damon and Carlton just said they had it all planned because people make such a big deal out of it. Sure the show changed dramatically each season, but saying it jumped the shark early in season 2 is just not being open to change. Most of the best ideas and twists came after.

That being said, the final scene was definitely something that was planned from the beginning.
