What do you plan to do about it?

Well there isn't much I can do really.  I was simply stating the fact that I'm extremely excited for it to come out.

Those of us who live near Dan could try to do something about it, but my sources tell me authors generally write poorly with a gun to their head. Something about stress. I wasn't really paying attention.

Seriously, though, can't wait for the next book....and I'm not a serial killer, Dan. I swear it.

So guess what I came across yesterday?

http://www.bookdepository.com/book/9780755348824/Mr.-Monster

:o  Oh yeah!  And free shipping to boot!  Of course, Dan can't be making much money off of this sale.

So, if you take this deal, make sure to buy his books when they come out in hardback as well.  He deserves every penny.

Preordered :)

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that I've just bought a book that is being shipped from England that costs less than what I would pay for it here in the United States?

Well, now that the US release schedule has been sped up, you all can enjoy the awesomeness of the US release sooner.

The release schedule has been sped up? Does this mean I get to enjoy I Am Not a Serial Killer before March?

*crosses fingers*

No, it means the books will be released every 6 months instead of once per year.

So you can enjoy Mr. Monster sooner, but I Am Not a Serial Killer will continue to elude you until the end of March.

Well I'm glad I get the whole story faster, at least. I've had these books on my radar for a while now... it will be good to have them on my shelf sooner than later!

WARNING PEOPLES!

I had someone from the Fraud Department of my credit card company call me yesterday, and they told me that they'd seen some unauthorized purchases to my account.  This happened within a week of me making my purchase to Book Depository.  This fraud attempt happened too close to my only overseas internet purchase in well over a year for me to not see some kind of possible connection.  Not trying to freak people out.  I'm just saying that if you made any purchases to BookDepository recently (such as the one that I made for Dan's new book) you might want to watch your credit card account for the next bit or so.  The charges that came to my account were:  3 to iTunes for $1.13, and 1 to AppleME for $1.00  (apparently AppleME is an Apple store that services the Middle East).  Again, this is all circumstantial, but man I'd just suggest being safe rather than sorry if your credit card company isn't as on top of things as mine is.  I feel really lucky at this point.

I've already contacted BookDepository with my concerns so that they can look around.  This is the second time that I've used their company.  I didn't have any problems the first time, and don't have any complaints against their service.  This is just scary though.

I mention this here only because I was the one that posted the link to BookDepository for Dan's new book.

So, out of curiosity, has anyone actually ordered novels from the Book Depository?  How long did it take for you to get them in the mail?  I ordered a bunch of UK exclusives (for the moment) and was wondering how long it took to receive them.

I order from them all the time; I've probably bought 60 books there. I've never had a problem.

They have come scarily fast. Less than a week, if I recall.

I think I ordered from there before and I didn't have a problem.

Cool.  I've just been wondering about the shipping time.  Their site doesn't track it well.

Yeah, I remember that too, but you'll definitely get it sooner than you'd expect.

Book Depository.  I get the books in a week.  In perfect condition.  At a discount.  Before they are released in the US.  Preorders are cheaper than their US counterparts.  This, my friends, is what heaven will be like.

As you know, im a UK import junkie as far as books go.  You don't even what to know what I just spent at the Depository.  I preordered stuff that doesn't even come out until October...I was just so excited.

I can testify of Book Depository's greatness! I bought I Am Not a Serial Killer there, and it came lightning fast. Much faster than I expected. This was just after I went to Dan's reading at LTUE last year.

I just love the fact that I can get titles that might never seen the light of day in the US.

Sounds like it was either an isolated incident, or your computer got compromised at some point, given that nobody else seems to have had the same problem... hope you've done a good purge, or swept your data with virus and spyware scanners. :)

Nobody likes having credit information stolen =/

Dan--

My wife sends me a message today asking, "Why does is say in the acknowledgments of I AM NOT A SERIAL KILLER, 'Thanks to Steve Diamond, who used to be important.'"

Apparently I forgot to tell her that story.

One day I will be important again.

I think your German Editor thought we were 2 weirdos.  Poor guy.  He had no idea how true that assessment really was.

So I just got an email from The Book Depository telling me that my pre-order of Mr. Monster is now available and will be sent out in the next few days . . .

WOOT!

Price has just gone up to 9 dollars at Book Depository.  But they will be shipping soon.  Can't wait.

Just ordered it. . . . I think I'm going to have to fight my grandmother for rights to read it first.

. . . . maybe I should have bought two copies, or at least a button that says I am Not a Serial Killer so that they know whichever us ends up reading it "first" is innocent when they come to clean up the mess.

I did buy two.   ;D

Course, one of them is for my friend.  Late Christmas present.  But still...

Got my email yesterday as well.  Going to be checking on its progress every day from now until arrival.

my copy of Mr Monster (well, my wife's copy since she is the person reading it) came today.  I'm curious as to her enjoyment of it.  I thought it was great when I read it a while back, but my wife has a very different take on novels than I do (as well as completely different taste).

I might have to dig deep into my pockets and order this one too. I got I Am Not A Serial Killer on Monday and have torn my way through it (I would be done by now, but I'm trying to pace myself to maximize enjoyment). I couldn't wait the month for it to come out, and I don't think I'll be able to deal with the wait for Mr. Monster...

My copy came today too! (Darn you, Bookstore Guy, I wanted to be first.)  I'm so excited to read it, but I have to decide whether to finish the library books I have first.
