So I decided that a discussion topic about the happenings in the Naruto manga would be fun to have here. Since we are already talking about the anime and it is hard to talk about future happenings without spoilers.
So yeah. I definitely think they will have the arc, especially with needing to rebuild the village and what-not. Also, anyone seeing the fact that Tsunade basically screwed herself by using her . . . uhm, forehead thing jutsu (sorry it was only named once like over a hundred chapters ago so I forget what it was called) and that basically takes everything out of her. I think that after this section she will relinquish the title of Hokage and Naruto will get it in the time-jump.

Creation Rebirth is what Tsunade's forehead-storing healing chakra thingy is called, at least in the manga. I think they called it something else in the anime. Tsunade used it, in conjunction with Katsuyu's slugs to protect as many people as she could from Pain's uber blast of death.
But yes, as it stands, we know that Shizune is confirmed dead; Hinata's almost there; Kakashi is probably dead, but still kind of up in the air.
I was glad to see Naruto's reaction when the 4th appeared in his mind and told him he was his son. I was expecting some cheesy "I love you dad!" moment. Was glad to see a more logical angry reaction. :D

As was I. I usually read the Japanese Manga so it was a different name. ha ha. I think Kakashi is dead. Naruto would have been able to sense his Chakra. But I remember when they were describing what it was her Jutsu did it talked about how every time it is used it takes a LOT out of her. I don't think she will be able to recover too well from this last one. Especially when how many people she was protecting and trying to save at once.

It's quite possible that she will die. It would be a pretty big death. However, at this point, I think she still has more of role to play, especially in the rebuilding.
I'm still on the fence about Kakashi. The whole meeting with his dad had kind of a Deathly Hollow's feel to it for me. Then again, I just don't want him to be dead yet. :D
I think Naruto will succeed in killing Nagato and possibly Konan as well. Either that or they will retreat after learning that Killer Bee escaped.
If they die, then that will only leave Madara, Kisame and Zetsu for the Akatsuki. Oh, and Sasuke (ugh) and his little band of followers will go back hunting Killer Bee.

I don't think Tsunade will die, just that she won't be able to hold up the role of Hokage anymore.

There can be multiple people holding the title at once and yeah the manga is finnally picking up again (his young years suck due to his overall stupidity the time jump made a better story)

I think the majority of the younger years were basically meant to just get us used to the universe and how the mechanics worked.

Ha! Like Kishimoto was thinking that far ahead. No way. He hadn't even planned chapter 3 (intro of Sasuke/Sakura) when he wrote chapter 1. Once he came up with Sasuke though he came up with the chuunin exam plan and Orochimaru, with vague ideas for Tsunade and Jiraiya (since the three go together in folklore), but really he's largely been making stages up as he went along.
When the manga started, the younger years were Kishimoto's only plan.

Has anyone noticed in the anime that the line movements are a cop out on DBZ where as normal people can't see them at their high speeds...and the fillers suck...one good thing about the manga is there aren't any

They did the line thing to a point in the manga as well. Though not as often.

Well, chapter 442 is up. Was anyone else besides myself surprised to see Nagato having red hair? I had always assumed it was blackish.
Kind of a "meh" chapter to be honest. The rock/kage bunshin thing was one of the only cool things, other than confirmation of Hinata's survival.

Ok, Kishimoto really needs to do SOMETHING in a chapter. I was pretty disappointed in chapter 443. Nothing really happened in it, which stinks because I was hoping for at least some plot progression. Even something small would have been fine. ;D
I'm still calling Kakashi surviving. 8)

Nothing at ALL happened this chapter. It basically said what we saw happen last chapter and Naruto walked around. . . . that was annoying.

I go to Onemanga as well. I expect either a lot of talk next chapter or (very unlikely) a fight.

I doubt there would be a fight. Even if there was it wouldn't be a fight, it would be like murdering a lame sheep. I don't think Naruto would do that. I see it being some long drawn out talk where either 1) Nagato will escape somehow. or 2) Nagato will want to repent his ways and help the village. Which will take a LOT on Naruto's part to convince everyone to accept.

That was pretty neat looking.
I'm predicting three or four more "talking chapters." Probably more if they're going to do a long, drawn-out back story reveal for Nagato/Konan/Yahiko. ;D
Hopefully we can get at least a small bit of info about the rest of the villager's conditions. :-\

I sometimes enjoy the whole back-story chapters, but I'm just not feeling this one for some reason. It's like . . . I just want to move on already. ha ha. Although the first portion of my prediction has proved true.

I'm with you Miyabi on the whole back-story aspect. Usually I like it, but this one seems off. Maybe it's because we saw something similar in a Jiraya flashback already. I'm still waiting for an explanation to what the Rinnegan actually DOES in full. We get snippets of info, but nothing concrete as of yet. :(
Although I must say, I like this new, somber Naruto. ;D

I'm predicting Tsunade being assassinated soon (probably by Danzo/Root). I'm also calling Kakashi returning from near-death with White Lightning Chakra goodness. Naruto possibly forgiving Pain, Pain subsequently dying from his already broken body, and Konan just leaving.
So here's a question. What do you all think Itachi's gift to Naruto was?

It could be, and that's what I assumed at first, but then I started thinking.
Now this is only from my own pure fan boyish wish that Itachi at least makes one more appearance in the manga, but I thought it would be cool if Sasuke came at Naruto with true intent to murder him, that it would trigger some sort of Genjutsu (or something similar). The Genjutsu or whatever would be a recording of Itachi to talk to his brother for the first time (in the sense that Sasuke didn't know his brother was actually good until after he was dead). I think it would be kind of neat. :D

I'm going to go against the opinion of the majority here and say that I liked this last chapter. I thought it was better than the chapter before it. We got to see Danzo when he was a young ANBU, more of Hanzo and Nagato's second pain. Next weeks chapter should be good.

Not saying I didn't like the last chapter, I just haven't liked this flashback in general. The last chapter was the only goot thing about it.

I'm going to say that both Bleach and Naruto are going downhill (though ichigo going hollow on ulqiorra was awesome) and Bleach is the one i like more

I rather enjoy Naruto. I normally like the flashbacks, although this time I just want to know what happens with Nagato and move on to what's happening next. . . I really want to know. ha ha.

I really enjoyed that last chapter. Seeing the statue as a summon was epic, as was its aftermath. I love the conflicted Naruto, it lends more gravitas to the character.
Although, I'm really just waiting to see the Raikage again. I don't know what it is, but he humors me. :D

Well, I'm guessing that after the Pain arc is over, the rest of the series will focus on Madara and Sasuke, and the final battle in the entire thing will be Naruto vs Sasuke, with the FATE OF THE NINJA WORLD AT STAKE.
I bet Madara kills Nagato, though.

I actually think it was quite the opposite of lame. Nagato didn't start out as a cold-blooded villain. His true purpose was peace, although he went about it in the wrong way. He asked Naruto for another way, a way to break the chain of hatred. Naruto did this by not killing Nagato, even after he killed his father figure (Jiraiya), critically injured/killed his mentor (Kakashi), critically injured Hinata, etc. etc.
This shocked Nagato. I thought it was a brilliant chapter.
And as for whatever he's going to give/do to Naruto next chapter, who knows. :D
Realistically, giving him the Rin'negan would make him way too OP. I think he's just going to either give Naruto the "Demonic Statue of Heretical Doctrine," or destroy it all-together. 8)

As much as I try to read Narutofan, 90% of the people on their are bigoted, racist children. Which is unfortunate, because I really would like to discuss Naruto on there. :(

I never doubted Kakashi's survival. It wasn't an epic enough death. Heck, even Asuma had a more epic death. :)
Although I will say, I am very curious as to what the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan can do.

I'm going to have to agree with Champion Kaz in relation to the recent plot twist-if he's resurrecting characters and making Pein go for sudden one hundred and eighty degree turns, then it really does cheapen the recent arc we've just seen. Still, should be amusing to see Sasuke attack Konohoa, intent on destroying it, only to find that it's now only a hole in the ground.

Ah, NF, that ol' hive of scum and villainy. It is hostile in a lot of the main section and rather marginalised, but I think that has a lot to do with its size.
Hopefully I fit into the latter 10%. :P

I think she'd pick Kakashi. While Naruto is powerful, he has virtually no experience leading anybody. He needs some of that before he can even think about leading the village, especially in its current state.

Depends on the translation. The one I remember reading has her telling him that she acknowledges that he COULD become Hokage, one day.
I side with Inquisitor on this one. Naruto obviously has the strength/Will of Fire/Talk no Jutsu, but he still lacks experience. Plus Kakashi needs some lovin', he's been jobbed out too much lately. :D

Seriously though, I enjoyed the chapter. It's really gearing up to the eventual Naruto/Sasuke confrontation, which I predict will happen soon.
Oh, and FINALLY a new Shippuden episode! Seriously, 6 months of filler was beginning to hurt my soul. 8)

I cannot wait for the Kage Summit. There's definitely going to be some brouhaha at that meeting. :)
Oh, and there's a Naruto poster in the new Transformers movie. I had myself a hearty chuckle after I saw that.

I hope someone tries to attack the summit. I mean, you got the Raikage, probably Danzo (I still think he's going to have some awesome jutsus), Gaara, and the other Kages who probably aren't slouches themselves. :) It will be a bloodbath. I'm guessing Sasuke will head there after he learns that Konoha is already destroyed and Danzo has left to go to the summit.

I didn't see the naruto poster and i saw the movie in imax yesterday...
P.S. don't waste the additional money on imax its slightly larger and the screen has a slight curve... it isn't the dome you see at the science place or places like it (though i say Harry Potter 4 on one of those and that was pretty cool!)

YAY stuff is happening again! ha ha. Although I don't think there is much more "powering up" that our characters can do. They have maybe 1 or 2 more levels. If it goes past there I think I'll start to lose interest because it will seem to start moving out of the element of the story to me.

I agree. I'm hedging my bet that Sasuke will at least get EMS (if only to help his when he teams up with Naruto to fight Tobi), and for Naruto....eh. Hiraishin perhaps? ;)

Really? That stinks. I saw Dark Knight in IMAX and it was incredible.
