TWG Dueling League

Welcome to the TWG Dueling League!

If you're new, the New Dueler's Guide (http://www.warsword.com/twgndg.htm) provides a good introduction to the League dueling rules.

Full rules are available here (http://warsword.com/twgdos.htm).

Information on ranks and ranking is available here (http://warsword.com/twgranks.htm).

Spectators are welcome.  We meet in the AIM room "Arena".  Contact me if you have any questions.

Announcement
FOR THIS CYCLE², I will be resetting LoW (negative) scores every week, instead of cycle.  This is to encourage quicker advancement for early duelers, and facilitate the growth of the League by helping those that join early avoid getting discouraged with an early build-up of losses.

²This practice may be extended if need warrants.  It will not, however, be kept on a permanent basis.

Is Proctor the same as referee?  If so how do we qualify to be Proctor's as well?

No schedule.  For now, at least, dueling is completely open, subject to the restrictions in the rules.

Proctor is essentially "referee".  To qualify as a Proctor, you must learn the entire matrix either by dueling or by watching duels, as well as have a few other qualifications (such as quality roleplay and a good attitude).  I'll post more details on that sometime in the future.

Wow Wednesday. That's a long way away. Good thing I didn't make any silly statements about not dueling anyone until I fight you. If I did I would have to break it just like you did. You are not very honorable, but I guess I should have known that.

Hey, there's a reason I'm not a Student of Honor. I've already stated I think honor is lame....And even though I broke it, I did reinstate it. Granted that reinstatement only happened after I lost to Ben for the second time--and this time was a much WORSE losing than the first (talk about epic fail...)--but I still reinstated it. That should count for something...

Yeah well you may think it should count for something but I disagree. That is unless you follow through, then maybe I will give you a little credit. I'm not surprised to yeah about your epic failure against Ben, he is good at dueling.

Hmm. In that case, I may have to make sure I come home early tonight. Hopefully around 8...

And I've already said there will be follow-through, so credit had better be forthcoming....and yes. Ben is good. This is why I'm making another oath. This one will be not to fight Ben until I get more experience. (I hope I don't break this oath like I did the last one....)

Well, I know you've been 'taking your practice test,' so obviously I have been on AIM. And during the day, Monday-Friday, I go to school. I am not a truant. I wasn't on much last week.  I was on-call for work and didn't have a lot of time.

Which days (when nothing unforeseen comes up) are good for you?  If you don't mind my asking.

It actually depends, though Saturdays are frequently good and Sundays are often especially bad.  Evenings are generally better for me, but I've been busy a lot lately.

I may be remembering wrong, but didn't there used to be an abilities list and HP and stuff that went along with your level and title a long time ago.  I'm pretty sure that there was.  >> I wonder if we could get Sprig to reincorporate that into the forum. xD

That was unrelated to the dueling league here (If you read the New Dueler's Guide, you'd see what we're on about).

But yes, there used to be a random "dueling" feature that apparently Brandon had come up, but it was lost when we ported to the new forums.

Dueling is about fun....And oh boy, does it achieve that. It's brilliant. I love it... :)

But it's okay to be a skeptic. Silk and I were its biggest skeptics....Of course, this was mostly because it was 2:30 in the morning and Jade only said he wanted us to do something "more amusing" than post prolifically, but...yeah...
