Short version: Jade didn't like us posting so prolifically. He wanted to be amused. He got mine and Silk's IM's and made us duel each other while he refereed (sp?). Silk and I had fun. We are both now addicted to dueling (or at least I am), and we are trying to convince others to join the dueling league!
So JOIN!....(to join, send Jade your IM info...and you all should join. It's fun!)
And as for the purpose of this thread...I have no complaints about my current title. It's much better than the one two times ago...stupid 'Lonely Hermit'....Why couldn't it have stayed at Enlightened. And yes, I AM still a little irked about that...

Also why was Jade upset. Was it because he isn't to prolific. Maybe he was jealous.

It very well could be jealousy....And I'm not sure why. He just said that we should stop posting so prolifically. And then he said that he was collecting all our IM info for something more amusing than chatting there...
And I've been involved in the dueling, and I've still found PLENTY of time to post here...so no worries about the thread dying. If you create an IM, do it with MSN. I want to duel you. And I only have MSN (AIM hates my computer...or maybe my computer hates AIM...)

Just wanted to point out that on the Main Stat page, Stupid Titles VI is the most posted thread of all time here at TWG by more than 500 posts. So I think it was time to make this thread. Well done.

I find it important to point out that I havnt had an Instant Messanger since high school like five years ago so it may take some time to get used to it again.

Jade can get it from here hon, but messaging will make sure he gets it faster. :) And I think the reason he didn't want us to post so prolifically is that it is easy to lose track in 30 or so pages of new stuff. But, that is just a guess. ;)

As a soldier I would have to say that no the honor of serving your country isn't enough. It may be a large part of it but even soldiers or Warriors in this case need money.
No I don't think I am going to incorporate any more title changes into the story at this point. I mean I have already begun writing it and that would be too much. That is unless those changes are awesome, in that case I would have to think about it.

So this is the second posse I'm a part of...sweet. This is a posse with a much cooler name, since the first one was the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. (there were only 3 of us...and we were dubbed this by somebody else...and right afterwards, they said I was the bad)

I'd like us to return this to its original, title-associated nature. So feel free to whine about titles, etc., but please keep general chat off of here? You can do that over IM, of course.

It's the extra stuff that we can't get into (like the coalition hiding in the woods, the epic battle, snowboarding, dueling, etc), right? Alright back to the titles. There was a time of poo canons, and groups of people assisting eachother. The coalition hiding in the woods still stands. We have pies and fighters and a war band and there is still dark times ahead. I may be out on contract from time to time but that doesnt mean we arent a team.

Bringer of Aid...I like this. Much more than "Benevolent Almsgiver." It's cool. Although, if'd I'd picked the class I REALLY should be a part of, the title should say "Bringer of Destruction"...or something.
And I believe this is the 6th levelling in the last 5 days....Talk about prolific posting...

I wish we could change our class....It would be awesome. Then if we got a title we didn't like, we could switch to a level with a title we DID like....and then switch back after a while...or whatever....
I was looking around on the boards yesterday, and I came across someone who by their complaints on their title sure sounded like they were a Student of Martial Arts....But then when I checked the profile, they didn't have any class..Or rather, the class was "I haven't decided yet". I wonder how they managed that...

Interesting. It would be nice to have the ability to switch classes. I mean I am generally happy with my class but that doesn't mean that having the ability wouldn't be welcome. I mean I did spend like 5 levels as some variant of gravedigger before I became anything decent. My only issue is that Chaos is only like one level ahead of my so I always know what my next title will be.
I guess my only solution would be to surpass Chaos in number of posts. I miss the suspense of what I will be next.

I believe that when they ported the forums to their current incarnation, everyone had to re-pick their class. Said person may not have done that?

And Monsta--it took Chaos a couple days after you leveled before he leveled....So you didn't really know then that a "Warrior" was what awaited you next....of course, now you do, so....yeah. And if you want to get ahead of him, just act like me--post freaking insanely. Won't be long before you surpass him....
EDIT: Also Monsta, sorry I didn't answer that IM...I wasn't at my computer. I was on a computer in the university library...But I'm now, if you want to sign in...

And I definitely agree that the suspense of what will come next is very nice. Kind of amused that I haven't seen anyone else with these titles around. Makes me feel unique...or paranoid. Haven't decided which.

I think I might just do that. I seem to femember him putting me in my place one time by reminding me that he was a higher level than I. Since then I have come two levels closer to his own so I would assume that it is only a matter of time before I over take him.

I would think that as a trusted servant that would be a good task for you. With the help of wilson being an aid giver then I think we will be alright. That is aslong as I dont duel anyone in the group, then you might have to help me keep my innards in.

And I don't really consider my prolific posting 'spamming'....A good portion of my posts (not on THIS thread or the VI) are relevant to the thread...And even on this thread, most of my posts are in response to others...but I'll admit that while I may not have spammed the forum to get this high average, I'm sure there would be people who would spam to get on the list...if there was one. So it's probably better that there's not.
And I love that RP idea...That would be awesome. I guess it's a good thing I'm no longer a Hermit. I'd have nothing to add to the story....except that now, I can say "Why, when I was a hermit, I learned......" or whatever...Yeah so Silk, now that we know how to do A Christmas Tale, we need to start that thread....If you start it, I'll post as soon as I can (most likely this afternoon....even if I should be studying for my two finals tomorrow...).

Think about what would happen if you were demoted though. In your next post, you'd need to give a reason...That could get VERY humorous (although it really could get humorous with virtually ANY title change)....This makes me wish that I had've gone with my first instinct when picking a class. I do remember him mentioning that there was a time when two members could duel eachother. I think he has been waiting for a group of active posters to begin again. If you haven't noticed it December isn't even half over and it already has almost the most posts out of any other month for the year of 2008. We can be crazy I guess.

Well thankfully I have Reaves and Chestnut Knight to show me how my progression is to be. I know that in two levels I'll be a Bored Page, so I guess whatever it is my master does is pretty...well...boring I guess. ;)

Seeing as that last level for me was I believe my 6 leveling in week, I'm thinking I should be able to hit level 18 in about a week and half...maybe 2 weeks. So around Christmas. That will be nice. Be a healer just in time for Christmas....Heh. That'll put me almost at your level, Monsta....It won't be long before I catch up to you just like you caught up to Chaos....
The pills I have/had in my possession were not gender change pills. And if they were, I wouldn't have been nearly so eager to use them when my computer was being dumb. I'm not trusted enough in the Light Magic world to be given gender change pills. For some reason, the higher-ups feel that I would use them for my own means...I don't know what gave them the idea that I was so devious. ;)

We are all quite aware of your commitment to this forum and understand that you could probably pass me by in no longer than a month. We don't need to be motivated to accomplish this fact and frankly the less you talk about it the more I can ignore the fact that its true.

Well seeing how I don't really have a Squad right now and I wouldn't assume responsibility over our coalition seeing how that would be presumptuous I think I'm going to look for some Warriors to lead.
I mean at least I wasn't attempting to impose rule upon people I consider friends. Who am I, to assume leadership. I know I'm a squad leader now but that doesn't mean you MUST follow me. I would rather lead people who want to follow and do so willingly. These types of people are much more reliable in battle. That is not to say that the coalition wouldn't be reliable in battle that's just saying that I would want you, to want to follow me, if I were to be your squad leader.
Also I have been trying to cultivate negative relationships therefore giving us an enemy that we can go into battle with. The problem is that people on TWG are just too nice.
If we could get a roster going of who is in the Woodland Coalition then I could start a thread calling other posters to battle us. Those people who want to be part of our Woodland Coalition can post here on this thread and state their alignment, then once we get a head count we could start the other thread and start picking fights It could be called the Stupid Titles Battle Arena or something of the sort. Then we could meet in battle using our titles as our positions in the fight. I think it would be quite amusing and fun.

We could totally do that battle thing. And we could solve the battles by dueling! One person from one team verses one person on the other. And we can have practice duels within the group to better our skill!
And with mention of dueling, I have a confession to make. I swore to Silk that I wouldn't duel anyone until I dueled Monsta....I broke that oath last night. I feel bad. And yet I can't feel completely bad, because I won the duel. And it was fun. So now my score is thus: 2-2. Yay! I feel better now after that confession. Feels like a load has been taken off my back....

I'm kidding though, if you still have that research you did and can make a list of the people who are in the coalition then we can post the list and contact them via PM to let them know what we are planning. After that we can open a new thread to find enemies to duel with. I think this is a good plan and I am glad that something is finally coming from all this talk. I guess we can thank Jade for his introduction of the dueling league. Now we can have two or more teams battle in the ring. that is of course if we can find another team willing enough to go against our formidable force.

Alright that sounds good. Your right about the fact that we should be able to find another team to battle. The only problem is that we always accept anyone who wants to join the Woodland Coalition so I don't know if someone would want to start another coalition/militia or just join us. I cant blame them either seeing how we are so awesome. I also think we should take everyone who wants in. If it comes down to it we can just split up the coalition and have two "Squads" and then they can duel/battle eachother for who is the best.
It fine if it isn't until tonight that you cant get the list together, I mean I wasn't even going to do it so I guess you can take however long you want. All of your assistance is appreciated as always. I wouldn't even call it assistance at this point. I think I would categorize it as leadership (you better savor that little jem of a compliment because they don't come often).

I will update the list with who you just mentioned and leave a question mark next to anyone who may be in question. I don't really know if Jade can be in any of the coalitions/militias seeing how he would have to be an impartial judge. That also raises the question of should we appoint a secondary judge to take some of this off of Jade. At this point we are working off his schedule and I know that is gracious of him to do that for us but I think it might be better all around. Mind you I don't want to take this away from him seeing how it is his thing that he is organizing so I guess we should wait and see how this turns out.

First of all, yes posting on the weekend isn't against my religion or anything its just that the whole personal life gets in the way sometimes. It just so happens that this time of year I don't really have the excess funds to go out all the time and I spend more time at home on the weekends.
Also Paper isn't going to a movie, he is going to a hokey game. I for one am jealous. I was supposed to go to the Bruins tonight but the plans fell through. I hope he enjoys it enough for the both of us.
Also CthulhuClaus I hope you realize that unless your name is on the page that I am replying to I will probably never spell it correctly. I mean I have a hard enough time spelling regular words let alone that impossible name. Nothing against you I just want you to be ready for the future butchering of your name.

Don't feel dumb, most people don't even consider hockey a sport anymore and iots a damn shame. I love the sport but popularity has fallen in the past 10 years. It close to being less popular than soccor in the US.
I don' think I would have a problem with weekend restrictions. I mean most of the time im not posting during the weekend s anyway so I dont think I would bother me. Im ussualy too busy, you know, leadeing my squad.

OMG! I am so glad I went to that game. Game was won by a shootout! Really intense. Really hard to figure out who to cheer for too. Coyotes are my home team technically, but always been a huge admirer of Dominick Hasek. Granted he is retired, but his fellow goalies definitely got some of what they have to day from him. It is interesting to see how the Red Wings continue along with such strong blueliners.
No worries on not recognizing Hockey =). It is funny you guys mention the popularity thing since the only sports I care about are the ones in that category. Huge fan of Hockey, Soccer, and Racquetball. All three of which I would bet most modern Americans don't even remember exist.

Maybe it's just where I'm from, but Racquetball doesn't seem like it's a dying sport. We've got courts all over the city where I live, and it's one of the few sports that classes are offered at the college. I took one of them a few semesters ago before I transferred. Fun class. Fun sport....I need to go out and play it some more, put my racquet to use.
EDIT: Well. My morale just dropped....Question--who would mug a helpworker? Utterly ridiculous....Furthermore, mugging doesn't include injury. Yet I get injured next level (I assume)....That sucks. Mugged and injured right in a row? I think that's worse than fleas...

That is actually good to hear that classes are offered there. We have some courses around here, but very not maintained. And not exactly usable while snowing =(. The only indoor courts are at a gym that is really exclusive and very full of themselves.
Hopefully I get some sort of expert training soon and can help with your upcoming injury.

Interesting. The only courts available here are indoor ones. There's at least two at the college, and another 3 at one of the gyms. And I think there's a few at Gold's Gym as well, but I'm not sure...
I hope someone will be able to help me with my upcoming injury. If only there was a way to prevent it....I'm sure Brandon thought this was humorous, having someone get mugged and then injured. What a punk. It's like adding insult to injury....only the other way around... ::)

I'm probably considered un-American because the ONLY sport I will watch on TV is Soccer. Baseball is too dull, Football makes me yawn.
Granted each of these are different when you are actually at a game. But in the case of Soccer, it becomes twice as awesome :)

yeah well racket ball isn't too popular around me. Neither is tennis for that matter. Soccor is watched fairly regularly but not the american leagues, there are a lot of Irish immigrants around this area and you can usually find a soccor game on in any one of the Irish pubs around here. The Bruin are awesome. They did a 180 and after making the playoffs last season they have been great. It would be nice if Boston became a hockey town again.
Let me know if there is anything I can do about the upcoming injury or the boardome. I would love to help.

I can think of something with the upcoming injury....but it wouldn't help. At least, it wouldn't help me....I think I've figured out how I get injured. And I think it has something to do with our duel. I could be wrong about that. But I don't think I am....Let me just state that although I may get injured, you'll get injured far worse. Your title just won't reflect that injury....Sad that.

You bet I have confidence. Ben may have beaten me twice, but I have learned much. For example, I have learned never to challenge Ben in a duel. I will not make this mistake again. You on the other hand.....well. You lost to Ben as well. Therefore, the anticipation is mutual.

On the first hand, I enjoy fiesty little girls who think they are tough. They can be a lot of fun. Keep talking big there wilson, I know I lost to Ben and thats because he is good. I will however show you what the meaning of Epic Fail really is.
On a side note, I appologize that the story was put on the back burner last week and is not quite finished. It is nearing completeion and I plan on sending it out to all of those who are mentioned in a little early release. Then I will submit it on the next submision date. Well. We can always count on Jade to put us back on track...although, the talk of dueling really WAS on topic--because it's in reference to my being injured next level....Sure, that's 50 posts away, which means probably a week at my current posting rate, but oh well.
You'll show me the meaning of epic fail? Do you want to know how bad I lost to Ben? 1 1/2 to 5 1/2 in 8 rounds. I'm not entirely sure it's possible to get worse than that (although I'm sure that it is...). Although, I do have to congratulate myself for not yet having done what Silk has done. Twice. The one time I ducked in my duel with Ben, he did a high cut (Go me!) so I didn't get anything in the face. Or the neck.
And we get an early release?! YAY! I'm super excited for it! It shall be the high-point of my week. I think.....

I really should show up for a duel at some point, but the next couple of days are out due the children having Christmas concerts. Silly school, is putting all the Christmas concerts on different days. K-2 are today, 3 and 4 are tomorrow and 5 is the day after that.....what the heck is that about? Honestly. We used to cram us all in there in one day, all of our parents were forced to deal with not being able to breathe in the stuffy place and the parking lot was a war zone of honking and swearing parents before and after. Ah, the good old days. ;)
I hope you all have fun, and Wilson, I promise you that no muggers are hiding in my forest. They wouldn't dare, knowing that we are allies and such. My forest is only friendly to our allies, not muggers of dubious origin. So, rest easy here friend, and be protected from future muggings in my woods.

Thats just horrible, three days of concerts. Eeek, I dont think I could handle it. Maybe I will just stick with one kid for now and think about others later.
Doesn't look like there is any dueling going on tonight. Its a shame but its not that serious.
Also if you need any assistance keeping your forest safe you can let me know. I know you pride yourself in a safe forest but I do have a squad here that would be willing to do patrols and things of that nature. You just let me know.

Good job! Love that poem. Lewis Carroll rocks....And since we were just talking about concerts a bit ago. Every time I hear "Jabberwocky" I always want to sing it 'cause in 9th grade, I was in an audition girls choir, and we sang an arrangement of it....And now, 7 years later, I still remember it. And I hum it (or at least sing it in my head, which is almost the same as humming....). It was a fun song...

I know. So I further referenced your Jabberwocky reference....And I think there are a few different arrangements of the song. I liked the version I sang. It may or may not be the one you're familiar with. Maybe it's the kind of song you have to sing to enjoy. Hearing it may be annoying.....I don't know.

Anyway, to be a good squad leader it is sometimes necessary to delegate tasks that would separate me from said squad. Things like standing post and completing patrols. I retain my leadership but a good leader can trust in his people to perform the tasks needed. In this way me and my squad could add to the overall security of the forest by doing just these things.
Haley you still have fleas. Now since the amount of people in the Coalition with fleas has decreased I don't think we need to quarantine but I do think you should use the shampoo a little more often.
Good for you Silk, its good to have entertainment around. You know it helps build the moral of the group. Maybe you can put on a show for your friends of the Coalition. I'm sure we wouldn't end up throwing our large supply of pies at you or anything like that.
Hey maybe we can make use of the ELC after Silks performance. It might be appropriate.

First off, congrats Silk. You finally escaped the fleas. (Maybe. I guess we'll know next level if you have for sure though.... :P )
Second, I think it IS possible to be too chatty. Not quite sure if we have attained that adjective quite yet though. We definitely got it that one Thursday (most of you should know what I'm talking about... :o ). But our general chattiness has died down since then. Just look at the Main Stats Page on the posts per day in December....
And I'm sure the ELC can step in if Silk's entertainment isn't enough. What kind of a Chorus would we be if we didn't? Oh, and I think at least a few pies will be necessary since she's just a beginning performer. Of course, when she becomes an "Expert Street Performer" (which I would assume would be in a few levels...), we'll know she's ready for the rich streets. And then she'll really be raking in the cash for our sweet little operation....

Oh wilson, that was a nice way to get people to go to the main stat page and see that you made it onto the top ten most time spent on TWG list. Oh very sneaky indeed. I my not be happy about this but I will congratulate you for beating me there. I will also say that you should be ready for me to join that list soon. I may not be there yet but it still a goal of mine to be there at one point.
I will make sure to arm my squad with a couple of pies just in case the performance isnt up to par. That way Silk will be motivated to give us a real show.

Just so you know, there was another person that beat me on there. I wasn't going to allow that, so I started spending more time online, and booted her off....It was fun...So yeah. There's someone ahead of you in time. I think she's got like 6 days, 7 hours now...
Oh, and also. I've been on the list for the last few days. I think since Friday afternoon. I thought you'd see it way back then. I was expecting some sort of a comment about it, but it never came...Glad to see I wasn't left hanging. ;)

Maybe you should feed them more. Apparently they're not getting enough food if every time you give them food to throw at someone, they eat it. Hunger is not fun.
Oh, and I'm close to being a full day ahead of you. Just 2 more hours...Actually. Technically just an hour and a half....

Of course we're already getting the pies ready. What did you expect us to do? Sit around and be lazy? I may have been mugged, but that doesn't mean my morale is so shot that I refuse to help out a fellow coalition member. I mean, I am still a helpworker. And if that involves collecting pies, than that's what involves. I'm not picky about my helpworking.
I'm sure your evil laugh will be fine. And if it's not....well. I'm sure we can find a way to get it up to par...;D

I am proud of all those who contributed to our success, we may have over shot our goal by a couple of days but it was still a valiant performance and we should be proud. I think the honor of starting the new page should be wilsons due to her prolific posting abilities and apparent lack of a life due to her six days on TWG in the past 6 weeks. (kidding but funny)
