Title: Burning Crusade
Post by: Tjaeden on February 13, 2007, 08:19:59 PM
Haven't seen much WoW news/reviews on these forums in a while.

Anyone been playing the Burning Crusade?  (World of Warraft, 1st expansion)

I have found that the expansion not only built on what made WoW good, but the enhanced zone terrain graphics, the new PvP objectives, and the expanded crafting really made this game go beyond my expectations.  I know other games may look prettier (GuildWars is nice) but the playability and the sheer number of things to do in BC is amazing.  My only regret is that once a player passes the level limit of the original world, the only reason to go back is for the Auction House and the Trainer (and you don't need them at max level).

So, anyone else play? If so, send me a tell - Tjaeden (70 Human Mage-Allaince) on Burning Blade (PvP Server)
Oh, and "WTB [Spellcloth]!"

Happy Gaming!

The people on the site that play WoW don't come to this site anymore because that's all they do (not kidding on this either) so WoW doesn't garner much talk outside of people getting made fun of for playing it too much.

News flash: Spriggan is prone to hyperbole, and should never be taken seriously.

I have the expansion, but I got it for the new races and haven't had time to make a new character due to the fact that school is coming to midterm and final time, depending on which class you ask me about ;) I do have a level 27 Nightelf Druid that I play in Tanaris. I don't know if anyone else is on there, but that is the one that I play on. The character's name is Sarlara, if anyone else is in this realm.

As for not having time to post here, well, you see that I do at least part of my time ;) However, not nearly as much as I could if I didn't play WoW, but, then I don't alway play WoW for as long as I want to either due to reality breaking in too much. :)

I actually posted a lot more back when I played WoW, for some reason...these days I don't have much time for either, I guess.

I play very sparingly right now.  I check the auctions, I do a little crafting, and that's about it.  Too much to do with school and writing, but once the semester ends, I'd like to pick it up for a bit again.

Sorry if I touched a nerve there Spriggan  :-\

I'm still kind of new to the forums - just making small talk, as they say.

Umm...  *thinks of other video games*  How about the Soulcalibur II vs Soulcalibur III debate?  Or how FFXII fell victem to the MMO's on PCs and copied FFXI to the console?  Is the Civ4 engine really that much better than CivIII?

That's all I can think of.   :)

Perhaps someday I'll do the upgrade, but seeing as how I just started playing WoW in December, there's a bunch I want to do before I'm bored enough to buy the expansion.

Umm, Sprig's criticism is true of me. It's not so much that I don't post because I'm too busy playing WoW, but that I don't have anything interesting to say because all I do is play WoW (and watch Netflix and cross-stitch and mother my two kids, not very interesting).

I've got a few 60+s on Tichcondrius, Alliance. I've also got a BE and Dra on Nordrassil (yay for normal servers!!!).

I like BC, but given how quickly raid gear has been replaced, it makes me kind of sad. I really have little desire to raid anymore.

I have Burning Crusade now, and immediately respecced back into Dual Weild Fury, and then immediately found an awesome two-handed polearm that tempts me back into Arms and Mortal Strike. I will say this, though: the new Fury talents are great, and Rampage is awesome. And Warriors seem to have better rage generation these days, but that might just be the relief of being Dual Wield again.

I made a Blood Elf mage named Kareyla. Yes, she's a girl--the Blood Elf guys all looked pretty femmy anyway, so I decided to at least have a cute one.

I could never get a warrior past 30.  But then I leveled a rogue, and he was 60 in no time.  To be an effective warrior - you really have to master those stances.  And besides druids, I think warriors have too many abilities!  Just way to much to choose from.  I mainly wanted a warrior so I could tank (I love that), but I have a protection paladin that does the job just as good (if not better in situational fights).

Currently, I'm doing 10 man raids and Heroics on my mage.  Hit over +1000 damage last night!

My druid is now level 34, but not leveling as quickly as I would like. This is, however, mainly due to the fact that until today I haven't had the time to truly spend playing due to the fact that I was trying to pass my college classes this quarter. :) Now that I am done though, well, I should have some free time to work on getting my character's levels up.

Tage and Fell, I should be on tonight after 10, if you want to do that dungeon.

This weekend is going to be bad for WoW playtime in general. But if we can all keep to generally the level of quests in the Barrens, it'll be easier to team up later. How about we just post here what level we're at and roughly what quests we're on? Then the rest of us can try to keep pace when we have the chance.

I'm about 13 and a half, haven't started the Barrens, and have five or six Ghostlands quests left.

I'm 17.5, and have been working in the Ghostlands (tons of great quests there). I'll work on my other characters, while I wait for you guys. Let me know what day you're planning the dungeon.

Micah (the  ultimate sugar daddy): Talos, Fiera, Sanjar, Rhuine, Sesino, Naerom, Dred
Zokai: Prym, Thyn, Lythos
Nessa: Nessarose

I'm on the server now. I'm using my livejournal name: Zeliot.

I am an undead rogue. I should be lvl 10 by tonight.  :D

Yes, I am pretty sure. I have only been playing for a few months, so I am still trying to figure it out. Realm is server, isn't it?  But I just made her today, so she is only level 3 or 4.  :)

And Chimera is now officially level 10! We quested together last night. It was fun. Aren't you jealous?

Okay.  I give in.  I'm sure all of you will just blaze by me, leveling-wise, but I created an undead warlock today by the name of Reanth.  So add me as a friend if you wanna.  I'm only at level 6 and just made it to Brill, but I'll see if I can't catch up with everyone else quickly.  Everyone's headed over to the Barrens area to quest?  What's everyone doing in the way of professions?
Title: Re: Burning Crusade
Post by: Tage on March 19, 2007, 01:57:29 AM
Dang, we've got quite the party going on Nath! This should be fun. Just so everyone knows, yes, we will be keeping to the Barrens/Thousand Needles area for leveling, and that will keep us going until 30, at least.

Don't worry about professions, just do whatever you want for your character. If you need anything made by a specific profession, just let me (Cadamis) or Talos know (alts listed above). We've got alts or friends to cover every profession.

Is there any sort of TWG guild on Nathrezim?  With this many, we could have some nice guild chats, even when we aren't questing together.  Then again, you people who are serious players probably have your raid guilds, so maybe not.  Just thought I'd ask.
Title: Re: Burning Crusade
Post by: Nessa on March 19, 2007, 03:52:55 PM
I'm for a TWG guild.
Title: Re: Burning Crusade
Post by: Tage on March 19, 2007, 04:59:45 PM
Our higher level characters are in guilds, but these new guys we've been playing aren't. We should definitely make a TWG guild. In fact, personally I'm all for naming it just TWG. If no one has any objections, I'll get the guild charter together and start collecting signatures.
Title: Re: Burning Crusade
Post by: dawncawley on March 19, 2007, 05:02:53 PM
No objections here, sounds like a blast actually :)
Title: Re: Burning Crusade
Post by: Chimera on March 20, 2007, 01:53:37 AM
I was going to suggest a TWG guild, actually, so I'm glad I'm not the only one for it. And TWG is perfect, of course. We do have the friends list, but the nice thing about being in a guild is no more annoying invites from lame guilds all the time.  :P

It was super fun questing with Nessa Sat night (she helped me a lot--many thanks!  :-*) and then I quested with Fell and Tage and a few others last night in The Barrens. Sooo fun.  ;D

Okay, now I need to add Dawn and Parker to my friends list. Parker, if I'm on when u r, I'd be happy to come back to Brill and quest with you. When no one else is on in the Barrens, I usually go to Silverpine and quest there.

I'm lvl 15 and grinding away...

We had a nice run through Ragefire Chasm today; well done all. There were a couple of good drops, but nothing fantastic, although Micah somehow ended up with some sweet furry hot pants. As nice as they are, though, they cannot defeat Ben in the ongoing Sexy Contest. Nothing can.

You should have seen the short-shorts I accidentally bought from the AH. I thought I was something out of Reno 911. As soon as I leveled I went out and bought new pants, just out of embarrassment.

Let this be a lesson to you: always try on AH purchases in the dressing room.
Title: Re: Burning Crusade
Post by: dawncawley on March 20, 2007, 05:00:14 PM
LOL! You should always try on any clothes purchase, just to make sure it doesn't bunch in places you don't want it too ;)

I need to catch up, right now I am only almost a level 8, still just kind of doing local quests and grinding in the area between Silvermoon and our starting point that I can't for the life of me remember  :-[

For such a low level character, I do have an extensive friends list though, thank you all :)

Still need 5 more signatures for our TWG guild. I usually try to log in late at night, around 11pm server, to see if anyone's on. Hopefully we can get our own guild together.

You can have my old copy SE, if you download the software (which I think you can get Via Bit-torrent) I'll e-mail you my product/account keys.  This has my personal information still attached to it so I'm only offering it to someone I know won't take advantage of that.

Also I think several people on the forum have free 10-day trials which might be better then using my copy and paying for a month, that way at least you can try it out.

What server are you making the TWG guild on again?  Is it horde or alliance?  (and pvp, pve, or rp?)

I led my current guild into the depths of Karazahn, and we did the best ever since TBC came out.  There is much satisfaction to working with your friends and seeing your practice pay off.  We have the first 4 bosses on Kara on "almost-farm" status.

But there is a random Opera event (which is 4th boss).  It's either the Wizard of Oz (Dorothee, Tito, Roar, Tinhead, Strahman) which we got 4 weeks in a row.  Last night was Romulo and Julianne, a welcome change =).  Apparently, the 3rd one is the Big Bad Wolf.

Questing and leveling is so much fun - but the beauty of WoW are the end-game dungeons.  The 40 mans were a pain in the @*#, but the new 10 mans are perfect.  We will be giving the first 25 man dungeon a shot next week =).

70 Mage (Burning Blade - Alliance)
Ask me anything about playing a mage - betcha 1g I know the answer!

Why don't mages have invisibility as a spell?

Why don't mages have invisibility as a spell?

I can never tell if you're trying to be funny or not.

Anyway, we're playing Horde on Nathrezim, a PVP server. Most of us hate PVP server rules, but have too much time invested on the server to transfer. Anyone's welcome to come play with us.

And yes, anyone who bought Burning Crusade has two 10-day trial keys, so if you want to use one of those, Eric, you've got plenty to choose from.

I'm creating a new thread for this, so we can talk about TWG-WoW related things specifically. This thread can still hang around to talk about WoW in general.
