Should I be concerned that the only posts to the discussion area about my book comes in the form of unrelated spam?  I mean, is this a subtle hint that in all reality, my book sucks?

I think that, if anything, this is a sign that you really need to start marketing to Russian spammers. Your book could be huge over there.
