Title: April 1st jokes on the web
Post by: fuzzyoctopus on April 01, 2004, 02:21:07 AM
Isn't it kind of funny that it's mostly just the geek sites that do things for April Fools.

I was hoping Homestarrunner would do something, and yay, they did!

It's not a website but Adultswin today drew fake moustaches on all the people on their shows.  Witch Hunter Robin is kinda funny with all these people walking around with doodled on facial hair.

Button Men online has randomly changing colors for the main menu and the "flags" say random things.

comics that did something:

Funny Farm (http://www.funnyfarmcomics.com) did something in the style of early Peanuts strips, yet still managed to refer to Naziism

Sam and Fuzzy (http://www.samandfuzzy.com) did a really strange "Sven and Fluffy" strip and a comment that I found hilarious (Sam and Fuzzy doesn't normally update on Thursdays, so add this to your reading schedule if you're a regular).

General Protection Fault (http://www.gpf-comics.com) took kind of the lame way out and printed today's not particularly funny or interesting comic with the text backward. Because, y'know, that's a "prank" or something.

Ozy and Millie (http://www.ozyandmillie.org) referred to April Fool's Day, but didn't do a prank. It's kind of funny, but only if you know the personalities of the characters already.

WIGU (http://www.wigu.com) did TWO comics (one without eyes and in strange colors), both of which feature Romy getting caught topless (no, you don't see anything, but it's still there)

Oh, and Krazy Larry (http://krazylarry.com/) posted it's first strip in a year and a half. Still not sure if that's an AFD joke or a genuine appearance. Either way, it's funny.

www.diabloii.net has it's usual April Fools day Fact of the Day.

www.vgmusic.com has a weird front page flash I think has something to do with April Fools.

It may be a day late but MSN placed SLC in a Top 10 spring break getaways list (http://local.msn.com/special/archive/travel_spring.asp) on their website.

Yeah, i don't know why so many kids want to ski on their spring break, but apparently it's very popular.
